Well - the above was just a little text in Danish, now for the critic.

 

Firstly, I like the motive, and the weather fits the motive nicely. The ingredients fore a really god picture are present in the picture. Unfortunately I don't find this result that good, and there are two reasons fore that, firstly the contrast, secondly the crop.

 

The picture seems to be a bit "grey", the asphalt seems grey and the water seems grey. I think it would be even better id you added some contrast, which make the water more white and the asphalt darker. It would make the picture more "intense", and more "real"!

 

Secondly, I think you could make the picture better by cropping around 1 cm from the right side away. There is some sort of thing in the upper right corner. That's disturbing, because I think that the motive is about rain, rails and asphalt, nothing else. Therefore it would make the composition more "clear" if you crop that thing away. Anyway the crop will not affect the beautiful lines in the picture.

 

I hope you can use my critic, and I will comment some of your other pictures when I find something intelligent to say!

PS: The famous Paris photographer Brassai also took a lot of good pictures of shapes in the streets, like a wet sidewalk that makes an "s" shape etc. Maybe you would find some of his work a inspiration to this kind of pictures!

I think the brown frame destroys the beautiful b/w picture a bit. You get a 5/6, without the brown frame it would have been a 6/6!

APX 100 developed in Tetenal Ultrafin Plus, 1+4, 12 minutes. Printed on Ilford Multigrade Pearl paper, on IFF Duogon enlarger with a Rodenstock Rodagon 50mm f:4.0 at f:11. Scanned on a Canoscan 5000F. Below you can see a 1200 dpi scan from a part of the print. Because of it?s pearl paper, the scan isn?t so good, but handheld, I?m quite satisfied with the sharpness. What do you think?

Beautiful colours, but I think it would be even better if you cropped the bottom a bit, so that the picture becomes more panoramic. After all, not a lot is happening in the bottom part!
