I found a 21mm lens on a film body the perfect wide for shooting temples in Japan and Korea. I used to own the CV 21/4, but sold it and got a Kobalux 21/2.8. I like this lens very much. If I had a lot of extra cash, I'd buy a Leica 21, but I love the 24/2.8 ASPH so much--especially on the M8--that I have trouble imagining getting a pricey 21. The Kobalux is probably not in your listed price range in any condition. They seem to go for $500 - $600 or more these days. But it's significantly cheaper than the Leicas.

I only use it with the 40mm 'cron, as I can get a good basis on how to judge the framelines that should come from it--especially if I have not used that lens in a while.

Jack, it is.

Mike, that's a great shot!

Alex, I like that one. I'd like to see a version cropped on the two sides, concentrating on the guy but showing the table reflections and some background.

I use the 50mm lenses for portraits with the M8. I don't own a 75. The Nikon 85/2 and the Leica 90/2.8 also are good, but as is said before kind of long.
-
I second the 24/2.8 ASPH and the 28/2.8 ASPH. Both are excellent lenses. The 28 is particularly good on the M8.

I just noticed that you can click on them and see them somewhat larger. Beautiful shot. I prefer the color.

Thanks, Vivek. Why are you posting such small pics these days? I'd love to see them larger.

That's one of my favorite lenses on so many cameras. A real steal for what it costs used. Nice shot, Andy!

Here's a LINK to the website, although I know that some shop in the US is selling them.

I second Andy's recommendation. It's a great accessory and helps in holding the M8--or any other M, and I'm sure any similar-sized rangefinder--with one hand. It looks great on Black Paint Ms especially. Works best in conjunction with a grip of some sort--built-in in Luigi's case or with Tom A.'s Rapidgrip.

I have a 35mm Canon 1.8 with the adapter, and it works very well. Same for Nikon's LTM lenses and CVs.

Peter, I have a 40mm 'cron-C, which I believe is the same lens in design. If unmodified, it will bring up the 50mm framelines on any M-mount camera. Many people have filed down the rangefinder cam to bring up the 35mm lines. But I prefer the 50. I prefer to think outside the lines than within.
