i have this lens and it is VERY blurred on the edges and even the centre doesn't seem tack sharp. i know it
is a zoom but...can someone help suggest a replacement lens for this range?

i put a new box of 8x10 film through xray without a xray bag. i shot 8 sheets and only 2 were affected.
how come?

thanks guys!.the film was always in a carry on bag.will definately ask for A HAND CHECK but
they sometimes want to xary the 8x10 film box... film cannisters are no problem.

xray bags as they might shoot a more powerfull beam??

thanks for all the help! i figured it out! i didn't mount the lens properly on the lens board
and so it was actually extended out alot!!what a fool!the washer was suppose to support
the board and NOt the back element.!

there was no hood or filters on the lens.i'll probaby have to check the mounting on the
lens again.thanks!

wouldnt that make my foreground blurred then if i need the depth of field?

i shot with a small aperture f45!so the coverage of the leans is ok i guess.but what causes
the bluurness on the neg edes?strange.i made sure the back was parellel and even the lens
centred and not shifted up or down.

IM USING A SCHNEIDER 150MM SUPER SYMMAR F5.6 LENS XL ASPHERIC MC 105 DEGREES
AND I GET BLURRED EDGES FROM MY 8X10 CAMERA SHOT WITH NO TILTS OR SHIFTS.

if i use a red filter to darken the clouds, will it lose me detail in the green hills and leaves?

when im tilting the camera upwards to get more sky in a landscape..is it neccasry to correct
the front an back to make it parrellel and perpendicular t the groud?? when do i do it?

i only have a handheld meter (not spot meter) and would like to know how to meter a
landscape.
also, how do i meter for sunrise/sunset situations that will get me the mood and not

white lines at the edge of film

i heard u have to sand down the holder some where to prevent these white lines that hug the border of the
large format negative...which part do i sand down? its parrallel to the edge of the holder...
