  1. My memory has faded a bit, but the picture was taken with a Canon 20D and 70-200 mm 2.8L telephoto -- seems to me I was shooting at about 400th of a second at a fairly high ISO (possibly 800). The Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, N.D., is state of the art, with fantastic light, so, with the stabilizer in the lens and the magnfication caused by the less than fullframe sensor, it was possible to "get close" while stopping action quite effecively. I was high enough parallel to the rink (rather that at the end) so that I could fire available light bursts without the hassle shooting through glass. I haven't done much sports photography, but the experts say hockey is one of the most difficult to photograph, and this experience proved that for me. I shot hundreds of images during the tournament, and perhaps a dozen turned out decently. Good luck!

    Absolutely exqusite, Ken. Your original exposure must have been exactly on target to allow you to create this kind color in an internet image.
