  1. It's interesting how there is only a thin strip of land between water and sky. The effect of the fog (?) does much to set the mood. I can't say for certain why I like this so much, but it has to be one of my favorites in your collection. It has a timeless quality about it. Perhaps it's quiet simplicity. It's one I can lean back and look at for a while. Can I call it metaphorical? I don't know. Whatever it is, it's nothing if not compelling.

Excellent. I had to take a double take before I 'got' it. Deceptively simple. It recalls Elliott Erwitt. Unfortunately, I can see it being under-appreciated. I always like to see someone take something entirely everyday and pedestrian (no pun intended) and make it new.
  2. Very good. Her look seems to be one of curiosity or wariness. Or maybe it's just a simple glance. For me it brings to mind the concerns of children, or parents of children, about security/vulnerability in Mexico City. Her father definitely has strong presence in the image. Unique composition/perspective. It seems to say something, although just what that is, I'm not sure. In a word, it's compelling.

If it is lacking in sharpness, it isn't apparent. Quite unique, approaching surreal. Not something I see everyday, and certainly not on photo.net. I like the simplicity of it. Horizontal, vertical. I'd say, Good job.
  3. Very nice. I wouldn't mind seeing more of the white horse partly hidden behind the tree. Then I know enough from photographing animals myself that it's never easy to get them to perform. I like the mood of this, though. It places the viewer in the scene. I can imagine the silence of the fog, the cold, and my breath hanging in the air. I like it.

Very intricate, both in expressions and fashions. Its main strength is its authenticity, owing to their distraction & lack of guardedness. It must have been a trick to get. One must respect such fearless & direct shots.

Hm, I thought I added that information at some point. Evidently not. Most pics from Mexico & Guatemala were shot with a Leica M6, 35mm lens, and 400 Tri-X film. Thanks for your comments.

Great find. I like their imperfect arrangement. Because I'm partial toward people, I wouldn't mind seeing someone strolling by. But I think it stands well enough on its own as is. (Whacky.)

I agree. Direct eye-contact from her would make it more compelling/ give it more impact. But nice nevertheless. Somewhat grim. It almost appears as if she is uncertain or repelled by the very fish with which she works.
  4. I like the flow, the bend of traffic, the fence in the foreground. Common & everyday, yet visually compelling. I could see as part of a larger series, within the context of others of a similar theme.

The subject is 'snow.' Why shouldn't it feature snow? Simple, yet expressive. When looked at in context with your portfolio, it makes more sense. It falls into place with the rest which speak collectively of your unique way of seeing.
