B&H still sells Kodak processing mailers [4.99] for Ektachrome and Kodachrome. They are listed under "film accessories".
They still go to the address in Fairlawn, but the processed slides come back in a white envelope with only a return address [no lab name, etc] from someplace in Maryland. Got 3 rolls back yesterday from them. The familiar yellow box is tucked inside the white envelope.
Dwayne's [Happy D's] in Kansas City is a good place, faster turnaround. As far as I know they do not accept the Kodak mailers.
They charge 8.50 per roll, turnaround about a week.

I don't know how it compares to the M version, but my 1970 like this one is simply an outstanding lens. It's one of my 2-3 "never sell" lenses.

As noted, you've got another great photo there !
I've been sending Kodachrome to Dwayne's and getting it back in 5 days or so which is great, compared to what it was with Kodak.

The last [3rd] version of the 2.8 is code # 11154, so it's not the one on KEH. They say "late" but that just means [as someone may already have said] it has the 55 filter size as opposed to series 7 for the 1st. I guess you could say theirs is the 2nd version. 2nd version optics are no different from 1st, but I think they may have tweaked the optics on the last [3rd] version.
Good lenses all, from what I have seen.
The Summicron though, is mighty fine and I wouldn't trade mine for either 2.8

If you go to the Leica Customer Forum [on the "official" Leica website], and go to the photo section, you can find quite a few pics taken with this lens.
Saw the 180 2.0 at a show lately, not as large a lens as I imagined.
Jack's Camera, in Indiana, was the dealer with the lens. They were asking just over 3K US for it.

Same thing for me once, saved me some money, and no difference in photos.
I would not worry over it, unless they are huge blobs of stuff, they aren't going to make any noticeable difference.

Try a couple of rolls of Kodachrome in the Leica, can't hurt.

I 'second' everything good, anyone has to say about WE's work;
After seeing his prints at a show a few years back, I was also even more inpressed.

Yep, USPS Global Priority works pretty good. Although tracking 'may' not be available once it gets to Switzerland.

Albert & Alex
Thanks for showing these...always a proud moment having your work published.

Does ColorEdge in NY process Kodachrome ?
or do they send it to Dwayne's?
Last rolls of K'chrome I've sent to Kodak came back in a white envelope from somewhere in MD {??}

There is a website for the movie with more stills and a trailer, etc.

Bought 2 cameras from Kurland Photo, no problems. Haven't had any return for repair experience with them but I suspect they would take care of it.

SL, R8, IIIC, and a Mini II.
Last time I used anything else was a small Sony digi for a quick display of an item on an auction site.

I was looking at lp covers last night and admiring the early Stones' covers also.
But, my favorite, from any/all artists, is Charlie Watts on the cover of "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out", where "jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule"

Issue # 960 of Rolling Stone mag [John Stewart cover] has more of
Salgado's nature photos shown. They would probably be great as prints.

My SL's have seen lots of drizzles, and snow, and at -19 F when they were working MUCH better than I was.
-
Very nice folks, they're easy to work with. I've had to send something back a time or two, but I've also done that with DAG and/or Leica.
-
FWIW, lots of images shot with the D2 over on the 'official' Leica site.

Stu:
I knew a geologist who drove Chevettes to oil/gas well sites;
He'd beat the heck out of'em, they were actually pretty tough.
I think he's using old Jettas now, Chevettes are gettin' too hard to find.

Jim Kuehl's situation as described above was many years ago, as I remember, water down the drain. Jim Kuehl has gone out of his way for me before.
-
Used CRIS adapters for years in SL's, work great for me. Covering, uncovering the Wein cells was too much of a hassle and they didn't last long enough to suit me.
-
Leica has offered this service for 2-3 months, and they can recalibrate the meter for newer batteries, if requested.
-
I haven't bought from Jim Kuehl in a while, but a couple of years ago he was way more patient and helpful with me than I probably deserved.
I also wish he had a website, I hardly see Shutterbug anymore.
