I agree with Stephen H, your font work could be improved. Personally, I think using ?!? at the end would have more impact; the exclamation point would imply your anger/frustration, while still maintaining the question format. :>)

Thanks everybody! It's one of my favorite spots in N. Vermont. With no houses along any of its shoreline it's always incredibly quiet there... :>)

in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont

The big-headed guy of the California Channel Islands :>)

Thanks Matthew--oh, I wish I had a rebreather! Someday they'll be cheap enough. I'm sure I held my breath; usually 10-15 seconds is enough for the bubbles to clear out of the frame. I do remember being flat on my back, on the bottom.
I'm usually reluctant to do too much color correction either. Things like the kelp can look better, but I agree about what it does to the background water, it can start to look phony. :>)

Nice typo on the title... That would be PAINTED anemones :>D

People seem to like these orange invertebrates, so here's some
more :>)

Only took about 200 years to grow to this size ;>)

Hi Margaret--this is the uncropped original; I did the above version only because I thought too much of the out-of-focus orange at the bottom got a little distracting. But as always, I'm open to suggestions... BTW, they are tentacles :>)
-
Nice--I think ideally, you want the front of the drop to be sharp too; it looks like the sharpest plane is toward the back

More warm color from a cold place... :>)

Sometimes I wish I had the BS in me to say--with a straight face--that I was that tough :>) The truth is, the sharks at this location are very well-fed and unaggressive, and it really is not that scary. I wouldn't make that assumption elsewhere; as recent events teach us, you gotta give wild animals their space...

Not nearly as dangerous as their teeth might imply...

Just following up on Michele's obsession with mollusks... ;>)

This coral grows like giant heads of lettuce blanketing the sea floor
-
Dario, I cropped maybe 5% from the edges but that's about all. Sometimes things just fall into place...
-
I think the blue helps alot... If it were only the earth tones, it wouldn't be as striking, and it gives a sense of the environment too. :>)

Fortunately, this shark was not quite as long as our 45-foot boat ;>)

Thanks Andrew... These sea fans in Fiji really are beyond belief. You're down fairly deep (@ 40-45 meters), and the light is very diffuse, really magical...
-
Thanks Steve! Yeah, it was just one of those lucky days out. Nice late afternoon light, rock climbers in an easily accessible place... I rarely use that Tamron zoom, but at 200mm and stopped down, it's actually pretty sharp. :>)

Oops, my bad--should be fixed now

This is a huge sea cave in the Channel Islands off California

Another irresistable subject for u/w folks... I tried to bring out the
detail in the branches as well as the individual polyps.
