Late light near Tolar Grande, at the edge of the salar. These grasses are
made for photography

Other shot of Ojos del Mar, at Tolar Grande, I hope you like it. Those very
salty lakes in the salt planes. Actually if you dig a hole, you will find water
just some under the surface. While we were there biologists were
investigating them. They confirmed the puna maybe is at danger n(which
place isn't...) , later some more about that.

very good shot, maybe copping the top part, just above the mountains left and right makes it stronger?

great job you made here, really like it!
-
oustanding shot, beautifull
-
-
Great wide angle, sky is bit blown out though, which is pity, maybe you can extract an additional exposure and blend?

Thanks mark, about the composition, you're right.

Hi Mark, this is splendid and dramatic photo, the trees stand out dramatically against the clouds. I 've seen your portfolio briefly and it looks impressive.
Also thank you for your nice comment at my photo of La Puna. The area is breathtaking! Feel free to visit our website with phototravels to the puna, also when you only search for inspiration :-) We can also provide you some information and tips for preparing.
cheers, Hans

This view is when you come from Tolar Grande and look backward when
you enter de huge Salar de Arizaro. Those earth hills are very attractive
to see, but proved to be hard to catch in a good photo. I hope i
succeeded here The surroundings of Tolar Grande are worth spending
some days, or more... Conditions can be harsh at altitude of 3500
meters oxygen is low, temperature can be 20 C by day, even in winter,
and -20 C by night. When the sun sets, the temperature drops like a
stone.

Saltlake in one of Argentines most deserted areas
-
The road from the Salar of Antofalla where we sheltered during the night
for the orcano to antofagasta. Without proper preparation one cannot go
into these deserted areas, here it can take days before somebody will
take the same road! The view is as close to being on another planet as
you can get. Antofalla is just outside the view presented under the
mountains at left and has 35 inhabitants. They asked us and some other
trapped travellers for some diesel, so the generator would be able to
provide some hours of electricity for the village during the evening, which
we of course did.. They repaired also our tire at a staggering price of 2
euros.....more later

Other shot from the high and deserted part of La Puna, Argentine. The Blues
are like being shot with pola, dus to the altitude here, about 4000 mtrs ore
more. Bad skies to accompany us there, and orcano starting to blow.
I am back at argentine again, next week we will depart to the Quebrada of
Humahuaca.

El Cono de Arita, one of most famous places at Salar de Arizaro in
Argentine. This cone stands out from the Salar and is nearly symmetricall
seen from one side. I choose a shot that places it in the white
salar, expressing the wideness i experienced there. Salar the Arizaro is
1500km2 large and you can drive hours to cross it. Altitude round 3500mtrs
and high black vulcanous around it, between 6000 and 7000 mtrs.
