I'm try to solve an old my problem. I'm a photographer, mainly sport photographer, and I'm using a Mac system with a lot of external disk where I store all photos (3 disk firewire 800 with total 2Tb more or less) and other USB 2 disk used only for backup. But the storage space is never enough so I would avoid to buy an other disk and an other. I'm check some other solutions like NAS or similar. Do you think that a NAS could be a good idea and which kind of NAS could better considering my use and considering that I'm reading my photos using Lightroom (sometimes also Aperture).<br>

I'm looking for a Contax SRL in order to use manual focus Contax lenses. I see that an interesting Contax could be the Aria, Anyone could

tell me more about this camera? Or eventually let me know something about an other Contax camera that I could use with same lenses.

 

Unfortunatly I didn't found on the web the real impression of use about contax cameras and lens: maybe because there isn't digital srl

contax cameras on the market now.

I'm not sure but I belive that there isn't issue when I turn off the VR, but this issue was so random that I cannot repeat it frequently.

I had a problem with my D300. Yesterday occasionally my D300 with MB-D10 and two EN-EL3e and 70-

200 f/2,8 VR without a reasonable isssue shutdown and give a low-battery indication, but if I shut down

and restart or I push the fire button or play button the camera restart without any problem (my EN-EL3e

are full charged). I cannot undersand how it happen because I had this problem few times. Any know if it's

a know problem or I have to send the camera in a nikon center?

I had this issue only few times and I cannot undersand if it's a lens problem, camera problem or MB

problem and I would avoid to send the camera in a Nikon center to long time.

 

Further my camera was setted for 5 shoots for sec., focus continous, Ch, JPG Large.

I received the same error from print module, but after I restart the computer it's looks like to work fine even if I have serious problems with the Epson printer driver.

Anyone know how could remove QuadTone Rip from OSX Leopard?

 

I would like to use only a driver for Epson R2400. I also tryed to reinstall

the driver but I don't know how could use because I driver list I see only the

new driver that come with Leopard but when I open the print driver windows I

see the printer preference and QuadTone preference but I don't have curves.

Unfortunatly every test failed. It's look that every change inthe Print Seting doesn't have any

effect in the print: the printer finish an A4 photo print in 1 sec. with a dirty washed quality.

Thanks a lot, I'm going to do some test. I had on my Mac also QuadRip that I didn't use but after the OS upgrade it has been upgraded too and I don't know how remove (the old unistall doesn't work anymore): do you think that could be some problems?

 

The prints that I obtained untill now are washed like a draft with few colors, and also the panel control to check the levels of inks I cannot find even if I have all inks full (checked before the OS upgrade).

Anyone know how to set the driver of new Leopard Mac OS in order to get fine quality prits from Epson

R2400? Unfortunatley I obtain only prints like draft in any way that I set the driver but before the OS

upgarde I had excellent prints.

I'm trying to use ACR from Lightroom, I have also updated PS CS2 to PS CS3 and ACR in PS to last 4.2. But

when I open Lightroom (last version) in Develpment - Camera Calibration on profile I see ACR 3.3

 

How could use last ACR 4.2 in Lightroom?

I'm starting to use the Hahnemuhle FineArt Pearl 285g and I would like to know if I have to use the thick

paper option or not and If it's a paper usable with photo black ink only or it's possible to use also the matt

ink and, the last, if I have to use Luster paper or Semigloss paper in the Epson driver.

I have 3 rools HP5+ that I pushed at 600 (or 640, I exposed on Leica R4s using

the ISO setting between 400 and 800). I would like to develop in Microphen but

I cannot find any information about that ISO setting. So I would try to use an

averange between 400 and 800 plus 20%: total 9 minutes in stock.

Do you think that it could be a good choice?

 

I would like to receive a weel balanced negative with good and sharp details.

I'm printing my BW negative in my dark room with an enlarger Durst 670 Color,

now I'm asking how could print also color negatives. The workflow and the

development of paper is very different from the BW workflow?

I have a new lens for my Bronica SQA. It's a 150mm but in some shots I think

that the film take light (the negative is completly dark). Anyone know if I have

to use the dark slide when I change lens, because apparently in 12 esposure I

have only 5 correct photos and some are missed when I insert the 150mm.

I'm trying to scan a 6x6 negative but the insert for Epson Perfection 3200 looks

like only for 6x7. Even if I could use this for 6x6 is not very easy, in

particular when I try to scan an Agfa Scala developed as negative I'm not able

to capture all the frame seems that I cannot read all the frame but the

difference in contrast in the frame.

Try to download the last versione of ACR 3.4 and the last versione of Adobe DNG but I'm not sure if photoshop CS (version 8) is supported (maybe you have to upgrade to photoshop cs2).

I would like create a frame like the dark room frames as showed in this example.

Anyone know how I could realize it in photoshop?<div></div>

can buy also a 220 film back, I don't know if the main difference is only in the

insert (that I could buy separatly) and if I can use the same 220 insert also

for films 120. Further I would like to know if all Bronica series SQ can use the

same film back (eventually I could use also a SQAi on my SQA?).

someone help me and explain better the strong points of each camera. Further I

see that there are R5 made in Portugal and made in Germany but I don't know if

there are difference in the price or some problems in one of these.

Thanks a lot Robert, your explanation is perfect. Generally I did't used a new curve after a proof color applyed so I belive that my workflow could be improved. In any case you could try to send me a target just to have an idea.

Ok, I calibrated my monitor with Colorvision Spyder 2 but now I would like to

see the benefits on my printer HP 8450. I'm using the standard driver and

setting the right paper and leave to PS the color managemnt but it looks like

that there isn't a real good corrispondence with monitor.

So I would like to know if it's the right way could be to download (but I don't

know where) a target to print in order to make adjustments on the driver to

achieve a real good print.
