    "Making Smoke"

          5

Hi Jayme, The stuff on the lense is oil. These planes generate smoke like the big boys by dumping oil thru the strait exuast pipe. If you get down wind you get specks of oil on the lens. The 24-70 f2.8 and the 70-200 f2.8 IS are both sealed lenses. During the day I cleaned the lenses but they kept spotting up. I do find that my 28-135 IS is bad to suck dust onto my senser. Thats why I'm going for the 300 F4 IS over the 100-400 IS. Get that hand better and show us more of those great pictures, Bill

    Tight Hover

    Hi Joan,

At most sporting events all you need is a camera with a large lens and a promise that you will send them pictures( get thier Email address so they feel you mean what you say)Most are hams at heart and will jump hoops for you. Talk to them and watch thier skills and tell them to do it again. Shoot bursts something will be outstanding.Friend,Bill

  1. Yes Joan They fly them every weekend at most model airplane flying fields all over the world. With the advent of carbon fiber and new covering materials the thrust to weight ratio is such that they have enough thrust to excelerate going strait up or hover. They can do speeds of over 100mph and slow to a hover and do some acrobatics right there in front of you. Cool stuff! Thanks for asking, Bill
