  1. You were skilled and fortunate to capture the hawk at just the right moment. She looks wonderful. Did you wash out the background a bit? It looks a bit flat and noisy. You might also play with the placement of the hawk a bit to see if a less central position would be more dynamic. Congrats.

I love the soothing green tones here, especially in the background. The few vertical blades in focus are the right counterpoint to the horizontal blade, and the water drops are very nicely captured too. Nice job.

This strikes me as a remarkable photograph. The look is somewhat painterly (in a good sense) and the scene has tons of depth that pulls my gaze in and in. The dark vignetting around the edges, while not really "natural" looking, serves also to pull my eyes in towards the distant scene. My only concern is the white vertical brightened smudge, which looks like it could have been the dodge tool in post-processing. In any case, maybe it was on the film but I find it a bit distracting. All in all, beautiful work.

Good composition. A few suggestions for improvement another time: fix the dark corners; remove the blurry white string from the foreground; don't include a deep tire track in the frame. You might be able to move closer to the big rock and leave out some of that sand in the foreground as well.

I'd say you got just the right angle to capture the sweeping arcs, both real and reflected. This is one of my favorites of yours.
