    My dear Yuri Bonder,

I appreciate that you are looking up who is commenting your - truly beautiful - pictures!

However it seems that you can't handle critique regarding your pictures very well, and you have to take REVENGE, if someone tells you that he doesn't like some aspects of your work (this picture and NIAGARA).

Your comment on one of my picture: "Yes, colours are fake!" (http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2828567) is totally inadequate, an insult and simply not true.

The colours in this pictures are NOT manipulated as you state.

To begin with, I marked it as UNMANIPULATED with an additional explanation. And I stand for my word!! I never lie about my pictures!

Moreover, a little explanation for you: It's a huge leaf and the sun was lightning it from behind, resulting in those wonderful colours.

If you don't believe it, I can prove it with the leaf, the sunlight and surroundings in one picture!

Finally, I have to tell you that I'm really angry. We all are photographers and want to improve ourselves. This can only be done with constructive critique and not with reactionary behaviour.

I have to admit that my comment can be interpreted ambiguous, but it was not meant negatively. And at least, it was not sarcastic like yours!!

I don't think this is a good picture! It's clearly a composite, and a bad one - no offense meant!

Too artificial - the bird pops out, no coherence at all! Can't understand those high ratings... Not everything that can be done, has to be done. And shouldn't be done when there's no sense for right or wrong!

Thomas: Don't cry - as long there is Velvia, film won't be obsolete. Digital can't reproduce those unique colors - especially when you look to them with a good Leica... ;-)

Anyway, very nice shot - but I have to agree with Jeremy that there's much better work in Eric's folder.

  1. Hi Jim! As always - great work! It?s funny, there?s a tree with an almost identical bough and swing only a few kilometres away from my home... :-) After intense looking, I?ve been thinking how this picture would look with a white trouser. Would it be even more dreamy?
