  1. I agree with Jeff, you just have to know what you want to do, if it is professional documentary photojournalisam you will need digital SLR, if you want to explore street artistic way I suggest film and rangefinders, you`ll be happy !!! and you will be close to the subject-object ;-))

  2. If you really want to take film street photos then do not go out with "tank", some rangefinders will be very fine, you will be fast, react in a fraction of second...no mirror (SLR) camera, they are noisy and you can not take sharp handhelded images below 1/60...rangefinders would be my first choice (Leica, Bessa, or take a look for some compact (Yashica, Minolta, Leica CL)...

  3. Few weeks ago I have bought LTM W.Nikkor 3,5 cm/ 2.5, nice peace of lense,

early production of Nikon ( Nipon Kogaku) ser. 242880. I was happy, I knew that

it will not provide quality like modern lens, but it was not attention...When I

shot first roll, I was badly supreised, everything was out of focus,,just every

image was badly outfocused...only on few frames, when focused very close , you

can see something...what is the problem???, Maybe somebody knows, maybe lens

was not for leica bodies..(lens distance 28,8 mm)...I will post some

examples..if you have answer, please help.

  6. Hi Lynn,

thank you for your kind answer. I have try vade mecum but did not find anything about. Have a friend who will make me adapter for copal and I think I will enjoy to shot with that old beautie. Also few days before I`ve been suprised with Nicola Perscheid 210/4.9(also aplanat). DO not have to tell you how lucky I am. Thanx.

  7. Thanks Dave, I saw Jim Galli`s technique ane aleredy have try it. I will see the results. It is very practical. Frank, well packard shutters are also possible choice. Dan,I have Linhof camera, I `ve been shooting with speed graphic, and it is quite simple. You can put whatever you want infront, we have made some shots with my glasses :-)). I know that lens could be also adapted to fit in shutter and that adapter could be made...that will be last solution..

    thanks everybody.

  9. Have a question! I have lens without shutter (I have posted before: Nicola

Perscheid 210/4.9).Today I tried to expose some film (EFKE 25). I did it the

way I think it is right: removing the lens cap when I prepared film and after

exposing i put the lens cap back...But somthing realy interesting me: is there

any special way to expose the film, especially if it is shorter time, let say

1/4, or even 1/125 with such a kind of lenses. I would like to take shots at

larger apertures but it requiers shorter time.I have been using ND4 and

circular polarizer to extend the time for exposing but if there is any

other "technik" I would like to know....thanks

  10. Hi S.S.C

Very glad that you have ineteresed, but now I am curious also. I have never been using so desirable lens, as I like to shot I think that this lens will never been sold...Anyway the lens is in a phantastic condition, clean glass without scrathes, fungus..( even an old filter was still there), barrel without scrathes, almost new...It would be sin to sell such a beauty, she lasted for a years and I will keep it...thanx for interesting...

  11. The story goes like this: I have a friend who`s father was a local photographer. I live in a small town in a central-east part of Croatia . So, my friend knew how much I love photography and call me yesterday if I want to by from him ( he`s father is dead for more than 10 years), some filter for Leica ( I love Leica) and some other accesories. I was interesed. He brought me 4 Leica filters (E39 polarix, orange and UV+E48 yellow ), 2 E-Hanza (135/4.5 & 150/4.5) enlarger lens, 1 ARNZ Jena 86mm EW filter,1 WEP Auto Kinotelex 2x converter (not exactly sure what mount) and this Emil Busch Rathenow. Nicola Perscheid - Objektiv F:4,9 F=21 cm D.R.P. 372059. He ask me if I want buy it. He was asking $150.Well seem reasonable to me. As I have Linhof Color 4x5/9x12 and sometimes I take LF (also have Hasselblad 500 C/M) I decide to by this lens just for fun ( no copal or any other shutter, barrel lens), because I do not have 210 mm lens for portraits. When I ccome home I googled Nicola Perscheid and I was really suprised.

Never knew that it is a collectors item, also never knew that it is so desirable lens.
