This photograph was taken at one of the highest points of
Yosemite.
The drop behind the tree is approx 1800 ft. It feels like a view
over Mordor from Lord of the Rings.
Comments Appreciated. No digital alteration .

Good picture- however I really do believe that when photoshop (or other) digital alterations are made - that the fact is stated clearly. Haven't I seen this photo before minus the Bird and Waterwalker? Possibly one reason why it is not possible to show a larger image is that the manipulations would become apparent.
All that said - a clear 6.

Shame the background has less highlight/interest. BTW-Last time I tried to load Fuji Velvita in my Digital SLR Microdrive I couldn't cose the back :-)

I do, however prefer your later (cleaner scan??) of this photo. Top marks though for composition.

Having awarded Edie O'Brien's B&W capture 7/7 earlier this week; I have to say that for many reasons (subtle) - I personally believe this image to be superior.
I would like to see the bottom cropped up a little. But I particularly like the Etherial look and the unique textures of the (as you said) now vanishing Beech trees.

This is a shot taken with only a color caste introduced as a final
touch. The object was to produce a set of four primary colored
pictures to be hung as a set.
Regards,
Paul.

Now this is the real thing baby...!!! One of the better shots I've seen of a much overimaged subject.
The only teeny weeny critique would be the framing/cropping - the image has a slight bias to the right aestheticaly speaking and DOF as mentioned above.
These are not criticisms as much as passing observations. You obviouslty have a good eye to have to have even spotted this Pic. There is nothing in this scene that is a giveaway to date it could have looked very much like this when Venice was a City State. - that's what I realy like .
