Trees in the mist..

stephen_ellaway

This beautiful beech wood was near the North-East coast of England and every so often the 'sea frets'; a thin luminous sea mist, would roll in and create this eerie and mysterious light.Native beechwoods are becoming very rare in England and, as I hope this image reveals, that is a great shame.I made the photo. on Agfa pan 50 b&w film (down rated to 25 a.s.a. ) on a medium format camera for 1 sec. @ f 22, and 'pulled' the development one stop to allow for the high contrast of the scene.Thank you so much for your comments...I'm a bit overwhelmed!
