I was using plastic cassettes from B+H

Hello, I have recently bulk loaded a roll of film using a Watson 66
film loader. It went well, however when my friend used the film in a
Canon Rebel, there was a bad plastic clicking sound every few
frames. We aren't really sure went wrong or how it can be alleviated.
Please help.
thanks

Thanks for the tip, I would imagine the focussing gear probably just needs a little grease. I can see how to open it up, and have the proper screwdriver. Is this a easy-medium difficulty DIY job? If so, what kind of grease/oil and how much? Any special procedure needed? I have tested the function of the camera, and this seems to be the only problem, even shutter speeds seem remarkably accurate. If this isnt a DIY job, how expensive would it be to get it done at a shop, and does anyone recommend one in the Albany, NY area, or in Southwestern CT. (I go to school near Albany, and live at home in SW CT)
thanks for any help

Hello, I recently aquired a Zeiss Ikoflex Ib w/ 75mm f3.5 Novar lens,
as I wanted to get into MF, and thought the classic TLR route might be
some fun.
Anyway, I have a few questions that I am having a hard time finding
answers to.
First off, does anyone have a manual for this camera they can
copy/scan for me or know of a source for a manual?
Secondly, the focus knob is very hard to turn, I fear I may do damage
if i continue to use it as is. Is there an easy way for me to
grease/adjust/loosen something to get the focus knob to work better,
or is it standard for it to be quite hard to turn?
Does anyone have any personal comments about the quality of this
camera/lens and any tips on its use?
thanks for any and all help, it will be much appreciated

I have been very happy with a 28mm, 50mm, and 105mm. There have been few if any occasions where I went to take a picture and one of those 3 lenses did not do the job. On the other hand, you may have a different shooting style than me, or have different photographic purposes than me, in which case my opinion means nothing. I can say that I do a lot of general work, outdoor landscape, cityscape, architectural indoor + outdoor, and indoor portraiture.
So my answer, yes I think the addition of a 75-150 would make for a fairly complete package for most users.
Hope this helps.

I have had a used Nikon FM2n for about a month now, bought from
adorama, so I will send it to them for warranty repair. However I
would like to know if anyone could tell me what they think is wrong
with my camera, and if it is a common problem with this model, as well
as if anyone has any experience with adorama's customer
service/warranty work.
I took 5 picture this afternoon with a lens I have recently
purchased(not from adorama). Other than these 5 shots, I took 2
others last night. On the last shot, the viewfinder remained black
after the shutter release was pressed, and I could not advance the
film lever.
I took off the lens to find that the mirror was stuck locked up and
the shutter was closed. I then moved the little tab insided the mount
that the DOF preview lever moves so the mirror would go back down (ya
i know, i probably shouldnt have done this, but it did no harm
anyway), and the mirror came back down. However this did not fix
anything, as when I pressed the shutter release again, the same thing
happened. Also I noticed while the mirror was up that there is a
small amount of film visible above the closed shutter, and I have had
problems with white bands on the bottoms of some of my prints from
this camera...so maybe i have a bad shutter?
the last shot I used a different aperture than the rest, i believe I
used the widest aperture f4.5 on all except the last one where I
attempted somewhere between f11-f22. I also used a very high shutter
speed (1/4000 s). The lens is a used Sigma Zoom II 75mm-300mm
f4.5-f5.6 . I dont know whether the fact I was using a different lens
than I have in the past, or it was just a coincidence that it broke
down now. The lens I have used previous to this is a used Nikon
Series E 50mm f1.8 AIS lens(also bought from adorama). I have shot
about 8 rolls of film over the course of a month with the Nikon lens
without incident other than the white bands on the bottom of some prints.
As for right now, I have rewinded and removed the film, and I am just
sitting and waiting. I called adorama but I didnt get through to them
before close, hopefully I will have time tomorrow.
Any information would be helpful
Thank you

Bulk loaded film makes bad sounds inside of rebel

Thanks,
what a weird problem, and I do know the pictures are fine because the friend quickly finished the roll within 10 minutes as it was a test roll and we developed on the spot. The second roll he loaded made the sound on the first shot, then went 4 shots without making it, so he stopped taking pictures. We will find out tomorrow if the sound comes back or not as we are going on a photo-adventure.
