Makes for a great shot. The stamen has that "scanning electron microscope" look to it which makes it really stand out from the petals.

Love the glow coming from the inside - great crop also.

Whatever the colour, these flowers always look great with bright light - white ones are a change from the normal, nice pic!

The start of blooming for this cattleya guatemalensis. Goes on for a month

or two - yay!

Spot on focus and great colour saturation here. The darkened edges of the image really bring out the colours.

Three is Nature's pairs, never an even number. Here I like the sloping line that these flowers follow and that they are progressively opening as they approach the front. Well composed, and elegant picture all round. 

Pure firework show! Lovely!

I was drawn to the image because of the yellow...and then I see the little guy in the background...- great! It's almost two pictures in one, but lovely image regardless.

The glow from the middle really makes this picture - well done!

This one - compared to the others - is very "light" and fresh" as indeed IMO these flowers should be. I like the simplicity here. The slightly grey background brings out the flower perfectly.
