Significant change, much much better!

I also gave it a try to just increase the contrast a bit (I used combination of soft light and color burn blending layers with low opacity and very little usm with 15/30).

Result attached.

This one well done too, but here I can see the way to improve.

1.Move the child to the left to have visual space for him to look.

2.Clean up some bright spots in his eyes...

I guess that is it.
