  1. Thanks, Pnina. This is an adobe brick church about 5 miles south of Taos, New Mexico. It has been painted and photoed by many people, even made famous in a painting by Georgia O'Keeffe, and etchings by the lesser-known but equally talented Gene Kloss. Even my mother painted the church! This man is one of the voluteers helping to resurface the adobe, a task necesary every two or three years. The church is much loved.

    !!Bilbo-Machine

Some mysterious (to me) machinery as seen from the river (Ria de Bilbao, Spain) near the Bay of Biscay. I have no idea how this works, perhaps that is why it caught my eye.

How often we find good moments needing a good frame. Well, you found one here, the contrast between animation and immobility, inside and outside, light and dark. Outstanding image!

I like the way you have contrasted both light and distance. The light especially effective in the way you have combined sharp contrast and subtle gradations.

I must confess that I took this soon after viewing a show of Martin Parr's art in Barcelona, where I learned that the sightseers sometimes make a better photo than the sights.

    Biarritz

Though not actually in Spain, Biarritz lies in French Basque country, associated with the adjoining Pais Vasco of Spain and was part of a tour I took, primarily of the latter.

    Loyola

This shows the back of an impressive bronze depicting a soldier dragging Loyola from a battle in Pamplona. It is located near the visitor's entrance to the Santuario de Loiola, a large complex built in memory of the founder of the Jesuit order.

I stared at this amazing picture for a long time. One of the most exciting photos I've seen. The essence of movement.

Haven't posted on Photo.net for some time and you were the last person to comment on a photo of mine so I took a quick look at your work and I found a real treasure trove. Would love to have you see some of my new additions.
