@Peter (if you should read this sometime again): all my horse shots until now are single shots as I really dislike the idea of misusing my camera for videos. It is much easier to time the shot then to press the shutter and hope to get the right frame captured.

Another picture of our cat. It would be very nice if low comments

like the one on the other picture would be commented to give me

something to work with. Thank you for your feedback!

Normally I can do something with the ratings but this time they keep me puzzled. Why is that photo rated so low? What did I do wrong? What should I change the next time?

Edit: I meant the first ratings and especially the 3-1.

    Rain

Sitting in a bay on our sailing yacht while it started to rain I

took some shots to capture the atmosphere.

Any comments, critiques? Leave them here!

  1. Thank you very much for your comments!

Actually there hasn't been any direct sunlight when I took the photo. But when I saw it it was way too flat. So I boosted up the contrast by a fair amount to get a rather dark atmosphere. It is uncropped, though.

    The cat from hell

Actually my cat was yawning and I just wanted to take a shot of her doing so. But because this cat just can't stop moving even for only a second it eventually moved during the exposure.

When I saw the result on the monitor I first didn't think anything about it but when I played around with it in Photoshop I saw what a great effect the mouth of my cat gave.

So I converted it to B/W and boosted up the contrast and was very impressed by the result. Have to show this to my girlfriend, I think she will not be able to sleep for a while ;).

I like the fact that this photo is so polarising very much ;).

    The white hat

          1

and having great fun with it! On our vacation on the isle of Gran

Canaria I only used my analog equipment and thought that I had to

try out the antique Zenit E of my sadly passed away Russian

    grandfather.

I couldn't believe how much fun it is to use it and it worked very,

very well. On some photos I get the impression that it is not

perfectly sealed but I will fix that eventually.

For the shot: I just told my girlfriend to try out some of the hats

as she was searching one and when she put this one on I had to make

a photo! Measured the exposure time with the built-in lightmeter of

the Zenit (which is a photocell) and somehow the camera made the

photo look like I wanted it to look without intervention ;).

It is so much fun to work with these old mechanical cameras (I do

have an Exa 1b, too) that I think I will use them more frequently in

    the future.

The film is also a miracle but a bit costly to work with. Scans

    great, though!

Anyways, after having expressed my feelings I last but not least

want you to share your opinion to this photo!

Thanks very much for your time.

  2. Camera stabilized on the balustrade of a bridge. Exposure was tricky

as this bridge was direclty lighted by several powerful lamps, but

the buildings which surround it weren't. Therefore I had to do a

compromise between the bridge and the surroundings.

    Do you think it worked?

  3. With the 30 seconds exposure I tried to "eliminate" the people. With

most it worked, with some it didn't. But I like the effect of

some "ghosts" being visible. What are your thoughts?
