Sorry but the info John has given you is incorrect. The RA150 and the P150 are completely different projectors. The RA150 does NOT take P2 lenses just the regular P ones.
I have a regular P colorplan that I am looking to trade for a CF one if you want to swap?
-
It takes the Colorplan P not the P2. I have a spare one if you want to make an offer. Email me if your interested.

I already have a 135mm finder so thats not thr problem so much. I just would like to use the lens at close distances sometimes and need slightly more acurate focus
-
Ive been dabbling with a 135mm Tele-Elmar and find it an excellent
lens. So much so I wouldnt mind using it more if i could get
something equivalent to Leicas Eyepiece Magnifier. I could be totally
dreaming here but any ideas from others would be most welcome. Using
a diopter frame which is rectangle, could a Leica one be squared off
to fit in the frame do you think? Is the magnifier as a predetermined
distance that it would only work with a leica M? Maybe those who have
the magnifier for their M's and a CLE could hold it up to the CLE's
viewfinder and see if its possible? Do any diopters have a magifying
effect? Any other ideas from the ingenious do it yourselfers?

Would the shiney silver matter, wouldnt you paint it yellow anyways? LOL

Sorry I must have misinterpreted the point you were trying to make.
"I "know" that the VC lenses are virtually perfect and almost always beat Leica and Zeiss (and all other) glass into oblivion!"
Its just I have never seen this claim especially on this forum! LOL The only lens where Voigtlander has slghtly better resolution to a Leica lens is in the 40mm focal length (You could include the 50mm Heliar but is not as fast as the Elmar) and thats most likely due to to them not having a modern 40mm offering. I wish they would make the summarit in M mount (Hint to Leica). The highest praise that generally gets bestowed on Voigtlander lenses is that they are great value, better than most previous genrations of Leica lenses and they fill gaps to focal lengths people dont use much or cant afford a Leica lens. All fair and possitive comments I think.

"I "know" that the VC lenses are virtually perfect and almost always beat Leica and Zeiss (and all other) glass into oblivion! :) However, I'm a stupid, obstinate cuss and prefer the grossly inferior 40mm Summicron-C anyhow, and particularly the equivalent 40mm M-Rokkor CLE version"
I love the sarcasm when lens that someone owns is bettered by another. Goodness the 40mm Summicron is definately a great lens, I havent seen anyone state otherwise to prompt the petty comment above but its 30 years old, its not totally impossible that in 3 decades someone in Japan is capable of building one thats slightly better optically! As I read some of the above posts, the Nokton exhibits the usual modern high contrast, higher resolution attributes, just like the 4th Vers 35mm Summicron Vs the ASPH version. Some dont like the harshness of the ASPH version but you still cant deny the ASPH is higher in contrast and resolution.

Stephen, Your probably right they most likey outsource manufacture these days, this lens however was made during the Leitz and Kodak Heyday so I was curious who actualy made it!
-
As the title suggests Im curious about this lens. Is it made by
Leitz/Leica or just a rebadged Kodak lens. Is it any good? Does it
loose out a lot of performance to the Colorplan?
-
Thankyou Moritz most helpful. Was the faster slide change of the CA 2502 changed because it was problematic?
-
Im still sorting through projectors and thought I should ask whats
the difference between Pradovits CA 2500, CA 2502, Color 2, P2000
and P2002? Im assuming they are evolutions of each other but its hard
to find what the changes are apart from a name and colour change.
Anyone have ideas? Thanks

"You handled what is called a mock-up. A shell that goes "click". Lots of people have been gulled by mockups. Remember the Tucker automobile?"
Yeah Jerry whats with the constant vapourware comments? So all those lenses are for a camera they dont intend to make? Get real. Your comming across as one of the Leica diehards that get ridiculed on the Canon and Nikon forums.

I am already using LKM magazines, I have dozens of them. That was why I asked about projectors that take them. I havent found them jamming anymore than regular magazines though. I started using them because I kept having slides fall out of the regular ones. I so too already have colorplan lenses so it seemed logical to get another Leica projector.
-
I have a Pradovit 153 that I have been using LKM magazines with. Im
looking for another projector that accepts the disolve units.
Excluding the newer Projectors that take P2 lenses, which of the
older projectors prior to the P2002 also accept LKM magazines? Many
thanks.
-
I just stumbled across this unusual projector when going through the
bay. Does anyone know much about it, what type of magazines does it
take? Im most surprised Leica even made this item, just peaked my
curiosity. I actually have a few rolls of Kodachrome 64 110 that I
dabled with when I had a Pentax auto 110 as a kid. I thought you had
to clip them into these adapters made by Kodak to put them into a
regular 35mm projector. Who'd have thought anyone actually made a 110
slide projector let alone Leitz!

I have a Voigtlander 28mm f3.5. Its been quite good, let me experience the focal length now would like something a stop faster.

"As far as resale value, you are buying it to shoot with, not to resell, right?"
Some seem to automatically assume that these lenses are both for sale side by side at my corner store for me to sample. I live in country Australia and have to buy either of the lenses sight unseen from a distance, probably overseas. Hence why Im trying to help narrow down which one may be best under the circumstances. Being able to resell it if it doesnt turn out all I had hoped, blocking the viewfinder too much is one point mentioned above, so in this respect resale has to be a valid consideration for me.
Larry, its just how you read into the title, it doesnt have to mean that all.

Hi I have been toying with the idea of getting another 28mm M mount
lens but cant seem to decide between these 2 lenses. A secondhand 3rd
version Elmarit or the new Zeiss Biogon 28 both can be found for $800
USD. Erwin says the Biogon is a good as the 4th Version Elmarit and
is new with a warranty so thats appealing. But the Leica lens will
hold its value as its already secondhand and im guessing has a
similar signiture to the other Leica lenses I already have. Its
really hard to decide. What are your thoughts?
-
I have been reading reviews of compact binoculars and they generally
state that if you are buying roof prism binoculars that ones with
Phase Correction are the only way to achieve reasonable quality. I
know the current Trinovid binoculars use phase corrected prisms but
Trinovids have been made for a while now, were they always built with
phase corrected prisms if i were to buy a secondhand pair?

"The 21/2.8 Elmart is, as Stephen says, a retrofocus lens, does not protrude deeply into the camera body"
Im not actually referring to how deep the rear lens element protrudes into the body like that which affects the CL's meter arm. CLE's have part of their lens chamber blocked at the top and bottom. My concern is the diameter of the rear elements of the 21mm Elmarit one fit in between these masked off areas. In photos it just looks too thick to fit in the space permitted in the CLE.
-
Does the Elmarit M 21mm f2.8 pre-ASPH fit onto a Minolta CLE? I have
been looking at photos of the rear of this lens and the diameter of
the rear section looks quite large. Does this interfere with the
meter housing on the CLE which protrudes in from the bottom when you
look at the camera with its lens off. I have read the cameraquest
site but im just a little cautious. If you have used this lens on a
CLE please let me know. Did it block the rangefinder patch too with
its large E60 front? Thanks
-
Just curious about this lens. Does anyone use one for macro? Would be
curious to see any results. How close does it focus? Was there an
optical difference between chrome and later black versions. Is using
the visoflex system for macro too much of a pain? Your thoughts would
be interesting to here.
PS I have searched the archives but I seem to have a glitch with my
browser when I go to M section all the thread titles overlap making
it impossible to read. Its like there are so many threads there now
they all no longer fit. Most likely its a fault with my end though.
-
I look forward to your comparison with the Voigtlander 21mm.
-
Thankyou Michael that will solve my problem!
