2.
A pic made in 2007 with my D200 (I still use this camera). I don't remember who was more surprised, the snake (lat. natrix natrix - not poisonous) or I.

  5.
The German magazine Naturblick (view of nature) Nr. 2/15, pages 78-80, published a review of the 135mm f/2 lens (albeit with another brand name (Wallimex)). The reviewer used the lens on Nikon D800E. The lens got excellent grades, it is said the lens has no flaws regarding image quality. Pictures in the article are showing beautiful bokeh and a noticeable difference between f/2 and f/2.8 (the aperture for other comparable lenses). The lens is recommended for use photographing non moving motives - flowers, plants etc.

    D800 or D810

Hi, Andrew,
After reading the answers I decided not to buy the D800 camera. So I have to wait and save some more money, since photography is just a hobby of mine. I am (for now) still satisfied with my cameras. I just found the offer and asked myself and you if this were an opportunity not to miss. I can wait (eventually till one of my cameras breakes down) or till there is enough money for a proper new one.
Regards, Miha.

    D800 or D810

Hi,
I don't really understand why this 'where it is made' arguments started (again). This was not my point as the OP.
I just wanted to know if it makes any sense to buy an old model for half the price of a new one and what the differences between the two mean in a practical workline.
I sure have to make my own decisions and I really don't care where one particular object is made. I have had and used Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Japanese, Thailand, Swiss, East and West German made cameras and lenses. I just judge them as good, mediocre and bad no matter where they were made.
Regards, Miha.

    D800 or D810

Hi,
I'm using F100, D200 and D300s cameras. I have found an offer for a demo version of D800 (18.000 clics and 1 year full waranty) for the half price of a new D810. Yes, I have read a lot about these two cameras and different comparisons. I would be glad to read about your oppinions regarding the ease of use of these cameras with old MF (manual focus) lenses. From my film times I have quite some MF and older AF lenses (and also some accessories) I used and still use with my F100. Would it be a mistake buying a camera (D800) if a new updated model (D810) is for sale now ? Should I wait and save some more money for the new model? What do the differences between these two cameras mean in practical work? I just looked at the D750, but is about 50% more than the D800 offer and besides, the buttons and the layout differs quite a lot from my current cameras and I also like the built of the D800 similary to my F100. I know I don't actually need the whole 36Mpix but I can crop the photo if necessary.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Miha.

  11.
Hi,
just found this interesting thread. As some of you I also have some difficulties focusing my manual focus lenses on D200 and D300s I am still using.
What would you suggest:
- to buy the DK-21M rectangular magnifying eyepiece or
- to buy the DK-22 eyepiece adapter (rectangular to round) and the DK-17M ?
Which of the two would be easier to use? For my macro photos I am using a third party angle finder (like the Nikon DR-6).
Any suggestion would be helpful.
Regards, Miha.
P.S. I am wearing glases (progressive, +1,5 to +4.0).

  12.
My pic this week - a misty morning nearby...

  13.
Hi,
i just checked the Nikon site here.
In the second list, "The following NIKKOR lenses cannot be used with Nikon 1 J5..." almost all long telephoto lenses (300mm and longer) are listed. So unfortunatelly you just can not use these long lenses with a FT1 adapter.
So for mounting a long Nikkor to a 1 J5 it's necessary to use a third party adapter without Af and VR.
Regards, Miha.

  14.
One more...
Nikon D300s, AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR, ND 10x. Taken at 200mm, f/8, 13 sec.

  15.
Hello all,
It's Nikon D300s and a (no name, 'generic') 85mm f/1.4 lens.

  16.
Hi,
I just checked my Samyang (Wallimex) 85/1.4 lens. It has the infinity mark on the left side, just like my Nikkor AFS 70-200mm f/2.8 VR I and Nikkor Ai-s 400mm f/3.5 ED IF. So using it is just like using the Nikon lens. Actually I have to check the orientation of the focusing ring since when photographing I just don't bother about it.
Hope this helps. Miha.

  17.
The third one is also from the Munich Zoo, still D300s.
Comment: exposure 1/40 s, ISO 800.

  18.
Second photo is from the Munich Zoo, D300s also.

  19.
Nikon D300s is still my main DSLR camera. First photo was made in an animal park (Poing, Germany).

  20.
Hi,
some days ago I was asking about a Plaubel camera. Link here :http://www.photo.net/large-format-photography-forum/00cNpY
Your comments were extermely useful, but the camera was sold.
Now I found another outfit, this time a Sinar : http://www.photobörse.com/productinfo-6855-0-P%20m_%205_6_150mm%20Symmar-S.html
Sinar P with Schneider Kreuznach 150mm 5.6, 90mm 5.6, 210mm 5.6, 'behind the lens shutter' (I hope to get the translation correct), case, WA bellows and 'a lot more' (as quoted). The price is 1800 Euro, it is (as I think) the usual price for this equipment in this corner of the world.
I'd like to hear your comments about the set (you don't need to comment the price). I think the Sinar P is better than the Plaubel, beacause there is a lot more of equipment and accessories available - in the shops and on the net.
Please, help me, I need the advice(s) quick.
Regards, Miha.

  21.
Hi,
I have problems with the View NX2 program I downloaded a few hours ago. File name is:S-VNX2__-020702WF-NSAEN-32BIT_
I instaled it and tried to run it. It started Ok (no error mesages) but after a minute or two it crashed.
When I start it again it just shows the opening screen and starts to display the thumbnails, but after a few seconds (actually after 10 or so thumbnails it crashes again.
I tried to install the program on a second computer - the same effects, the same procedure.
I intended to use the View NX2 to analyse the effects of the fine tuning the focus of my D300s (no other programs I use shows these data). I did not install the program from the CD I got with the camera. Could this be the problem?
I searched many forums and find a lot of others have the same problems but I did not find any effective solution.
I am using Windows 7 / enterprise on both computers I was trying to get the View NX2 running.
Can anybody help me with a solution the get the aforementioned program running.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards, Miha Hadl.
