Looks pretty good to me, however it took a while to load; not sure it is because of slow office connection or the presence of too many pictures in your landing page.

-

Maya, did you check 100webspce.com? Subdomain hosting is rather common BTW.

DSK, sure you will have a great experience in that area specially if you manage to go to Ladak, provided there is no snowfall. Things get pretty murky after heavy snowfall into this area. Also, keep in mind, you will not be able to carry any carry-on bags in flights to and from J&K airports.

How come I did not know that administration is giving away a stimulus package in photo industry? Shame on me.
I think this is some sort of joke, else I would not touch Hoya filters with 75k in my pocket to spend.

Guys! you rock. And thanks a ton for the suggestions.
Just came back from the trip yesterday. We scaled down the trip quite a bit. On day Zero, we hiked to Delicate Arch at Arches in the afternoon after a 4 hr drive from Saltlake. The hike would worth every drop of my sweat had the weather god be nice to us. It was cloudy and rainy, but we enjoyed the beauty of the arch anyway.
Day1, we drive down to monument valley with a short stop at Goosenecks SP. We spend about 5-6hrs at MV and stayed there till 8-8:30pm for moonlit shots, but there were clouds again. By the way, dinner at The View hotel is fabulous but not expensive and don't miss the navajo fried bread.
On day 2, we came back to Moab with a loop trip of Valley of Gods. We enjoyed rest of the day at Arches. On our last day, we spend some more time at Arches and then head north to Saltlake.
Overall, the trip was great even though there were small patches of interruption from weather God.

I think you will do just fine with international leg of the flight. Be careful with domestic flights within India. Domestic airlines kind of enforce the 1 bag rule and I had a pretty bad experience with a small bag (20D, 17-40mm, 75-300mm) along with rather lightweight carry-on.

Guys- thank you all for your input and I have a feeling that I had an insane itinerary. I am going to redo the travel plan. The dilema is wheather I should remove Zion area or Arches NP? the main reason I am travelling to Utah is monument valley.

-

I have searched the form but since every trip is unique, I am looking for some advise from you guys. We will be traveling to Southern utah for 4 days. We will be flying to SLC on 09/04 and start driving around noon towards Kanab thru I-15. We plan to stop by Zion for couple of hours, just before sunset.
The next day (09/05), we plan to drive east towards Page, AZ for a visit to Antelope canyon and spend about 2 hours there. We will start driving away from Page towards Monument valley and hope to get in there by afternoon, say around 4:30pm. I plan to stay there till the sunset so I can utilize the nice lighting. We will be lodging at Mexican Hat on that day. Next day (09/06), we have planned for a second visit to Monument valley for the early morning sunshine shots. Once done with MV, we will be heading to Horseshoe Bend and by afternoon, drive up north to Moab. If time and body permits, we will stop by Arches NP that day. If that is not feasible, we plan to be there the next day morning (09/07) and stay there till around 11am. Our flight from SLC is at 5pm. So most likely we should hit the road to airport by 12 noon. I planned to take the route thru San Rafael Swell on I-70 and then pick up Rt-10 to go up north.
My schedule is too packed, but I am wondering if someone of you can point me towards the best photogenic spots along my travel route. From my last tour in Utah, I learned that lesson the hard way as we spend too much time shooting from roadside, but later we were short in time at prime spots.

More than likely your canon adapter will cost twice the cost of your saker lenses. AFAIK, SAKER maintains a rather low quality.
-
Ken, did you tried it yet? I don't see any release note that implicates more features to ACR. Supporting more cameras is the only reason for this ACR update?
-
With Digital cameras, oncamera multiple exposure shooting is dead for a while now. However, as stated above, you can always do the same with Photoshop with a lot less sweating.

Correct me if I am wrong. If someone use flash thru a glass window, everything will be flash burned. I would say, roll down the damn tinted window, since it does serve you any purpose other than obstructing light. Get some good fast lens with IS.

I believ it is because of pixel interpolatation. Pictures in DPP looks very sharp with fancy vivid look, transfer to PS and bahm! I don't think colorspace has anything to do with it since mine is set properly and I noticed the same. I have a feeling that DPP use some sort of virtual sharpenning to the image to look it better on screen.

Gary, are you serious?
-
John, how much did that cost you? I am thinking of stopping by Jamesburg service center on friday to get a quote from them anyway. Its just few miles drive from my place.
-
The camera is ~2yrs old, actuation guesstimate ~5k. As far as I know, it was not dropped as for as I know, but now I am not sure about rest of the gang. Getting any liquid or anything of that sort, again can be possible since it was nto with me all the time. To William, lessons learned, sometime in guey way :(. Puppy face, I will check with Canon. Do you know how much do they charge to fix button fix type issues?

By the way, I forgot to mention previously, pictures are coming out fine at all shutter speeds, so the shutter itself is not the culprit, right?

-
I am just wondering how it feels when teh shutter tends to end its life? Mine is
feeling kind sticky and I am feeling like I have to use little more pressure to
press the shutter button down. It all happened after I let my 20D on different
hands during my wedding, and now this :(.

Most likely answer is NO. You can ask the same question here, http://www.jjmehta.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl .

What about your tripod? Is it also okay to take it in yoru cabinbag?

If you can, buy a good lens cleaner from local photo shop. I found a lens cleaning solution from Carl-Zeiss (@ Walmart, bought last yr, for like 2 bucks). Get cotton swab from any pharmacy store. Test your solution with the swab (just spray a dash of solution over the swab and apply on the shiny surface of the CD)over a new Compact disc and see if the (swab/lens cleaner) combo leaves any residue after application/drying over the disc. Look at different angle to feel the situation. If the solution does not leave any residual mark on CD surface, feel free to use it on your sensor. I just did it last weekend and teh sensor is CLEAN. I think VisualDust product or anyother sensor cleaning products are total ripoff. But that may be my personal opinion only:).

Any chance to have a glimpse of peregrine eagle? I will be taking my 300mm lens with 1.5x extender.

In New Jersey, almost all the shoreline is privately owned. Is it teh same in Maine?

Kit, thats not too diificult to do in practise. All you need a old pantyhose and some cardboard. Anyway, I will be all over this new lens if it comes with 24carat gold plated lens cap and titanium lens mount. otherwise, my 50 1.8 will do the job for me very well.
For sale- Canon EF 17-40mm f4 L USM, good condition
