pretty nice, despite of that strange yellow.

very nice!

i replied a comment here, that was deleted. so i need to delete my response too.

Well, i'm going to like taking pictures at night. Technical problems,
on the camera-lens-film side are not solved, but, at least,
understanded. What competely lacks is the whole scanning process!
I'll appreciate if you'll tell me your opinion - and some diy idea
about scanning negs.

I really agree with Eric (both the two). I guess if i'm still keeping somewhere that damn Yashica tlr brick. Maybe being male and around 50 can make my selfportraits less + commented. They will be only out of focus, i think. And, sincerely, i'll not be able to put in focus only a round zone - all my cameras try to have a focus plane: not a circle, so i think that we are not seeing exactly what it seems.
-
I think that one is the best of your very fine self-portraits, and show your ease in being a model too.
Thanks for posting.

pretty nice picture. I hope we'll see more from you.

yes, i agree, this should has been pow. Fantastic picture!
-
I too think that's a very good image - a pleasure to see. About doing it the POW, i cannot see any serious constraint, but two: it's maybe not a picture, and, yes, it's boring. Well done, surely, i myself am not be able to do a fine thing like this with a scanner (or with a camera, i suspect) but i think we have to put some limit to what we believe are pictures. PS is another thing: we are going to use software ability as a part of our taking-develiping-printing world of pics, but i continue believing they are different fields.

i like it, after all. but what i feel irritating is the blue shadow around the candles: is it a kind of noise, being digital, or some ps effect?
the composition, indeed, looks great, and the transparency effect on the green candle more, if possible. i wish i have not know the oiginal pic, but this is a point of wiew - strongly disliking digital manipulation - more of this, it's a my own weakness, aftyer spending half a life looking at glass and prints.
-
Maybe cropping the left to eliminate the rope? Or, in less software way, actually leaving away the rope, phisically?
:-)
Nice composition, for me too.
-
Very fine detail. Amazing response to us all who dont believe in digital.

I shot half a roll of film with an old Canon VT at Zoagli beach,
around midnight. I'm not entirely sure of the results, so i would
appreciate your suggestions.

please explain us peoples how have you don this one - we wont believe you done the whole thing being there with your camera and the right lens on it only because your luck! :-)

well, hum, the cat is black, i see. the background is pretty lighted, too. so this can make thinking at an excess of high contrast. but the grass has a nice green, and the eyes of the cat are maybe better. the whole thing is the black - difficult to expose, i mean.
:-)

very impressive, linda. follow this way, if i can tell.

Hi Paul,
yes, it is a stained window. Next evening i'm going to put online other two pics, to see if i can avoid that out-of-focus effect, maybe scanning them better. I saw your one, and found it has a very impressing light effect.
Can you give some technical detail?
Thanks.
-
i'll be glad to hear from you. i'll tried this some times, and never
be sure of the results.
thanks

i'm very happy to see an other person opinion on my pic.
and, yes, there is a story after this.
-
Any comments or suggestion are welcome.
-
It is really the first one uploaded photo, for me. And i managed to
use that neg scanner contraption today, for the first time. So i will
be glad for every suggestion.
-
it's also for me easier to love the bw one - anyways you look at the two it gives a more subtle flavour. thank you, marina

Your pic made me think maybe it's time to stop buying film: only collecting cameras is better for me. Great shot, Baldur - hope we'll see others from you
