My thanks to those who complemented me on this photo as I thought it was one of my best recently and the initial ratings were as low as 3's and so I was somewhat taken aback. The ratings have improved as time has gone on and for that I am gratefull. cheers

twnety years ago.

I believe he exhibits these two admirable traits in this photo. I

try not to tell my subjects to stand or ask for a particular

expression; I believe you take a much more honest portrait that way.

Most of the time it works very well. Please comment as written words

mean much more to me than ratings. Thank you.

While the Trans Alaska Pipeline was being built I got the

opportunity to ride with a convoy of trucks moving constuction

material to the North Slope. This is one of the photos which

resulted. Any comments are welcome and appreciated.

This is very good capture. I would crop out to exclude the stone on the right center. I think that would pull the viewer to the "three gossips". My concern with this is what it would do to the inclusion of the stump on the left side. Altogether this is a fine photograph, very good tonal scale - the highlights are great. Excellent B&W. Michael

Thanks Marc and Jeremy - I did'nt notice the problem with the horizon which I can re-do. I also had a problem with the scan on this one as I believe the entire boat is on the original. I tried scanning it several times. I will try to rescan this time with Vuescan as I did'nt have at the time. Thanks for your obsevations and comments.
