  1. I was planning to shoot the mountain in the sunset colors, the wholeday was almost clear sky, with just the right amount of clouds. Butduring our climb for this view, the sky turned really dark and itlooked like a storm was coming. No chance to fulfill our plans, onlythis shot was the result...

Thanks for looking and sharing yourcomments, Jiri

  2. Shot at a wedding of my distant relative. The inside of the church wasvery dark, so I had to push Ilford HP5+ all the way to 3200. Laterdeveloped in Rodinal with my usual semi-stand technique. To my eyes(and on my monitor :-), the shots came out rather good... What do youthink? Do you like it too?

Your comments and ideas are welcome... Thanks for your time, Jiri

  3. Thank you all for those kind comments. As Carsten suggested, maybe we have a brighter monitor (I have a Benq LCD). It's not calibrated but judging from the presentation of photos of other photographers, I think it's not overly bright. On my monitor the ground on the right is just correct, as I want it to be, the trees on the horizon are mostly dark, but I also wanted them to be so. If I try to make the foreground any lighter, it will look unnatural and wrong for me... But anyway, thank you for stopping by...

  4. After I took the previous shot (the http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=5222898">Stormclouds), I wandered around for several minutes. Then I noticed theclouds formed such a nice line, mirroring the path on the ground...And this is the result. What do you think? Do you likeit?

Thanks for your comments and ideas, Jiri

Not original at all, but the execution of the idea is very good here. The use of light and shadow is nice. I really like the contrast and tonality... A good one...

This is a beautiful shot, very sharp, and with the wide angle lens, I feel almost being there (again, I've been there too :-). I'd prefer a little less polarisation in the sky, but that might be your intention and does not make your shot any worse... Jiri

There was a storm coming quickly from east (the left side of thephoto), it started raining heavily some ten minutes later...

  5. Thanks Michael,

in a way I seek something similar, but not to the same extent. I also seek greater detail in the pictures I make. But in the near future, I won't go so large. I'll stick to the 9ױ2cm/4׵" size, maybe go to the 18ײ4cm/8ױ0" size. So far I have only made the back part for a camera, and that was not so difficult. I may also draw plans (and build) a whole camera, but that's not for the days now...

The picture may have a lot of faults (composition, focus, subject), and although I was trying to pay attention to those points too, the main concern was to enlighten the sheet correctly - as the users of LF cameras know, that alone could be a problem for the beginner...

    Thanks anyway... Jiri

  6. Thanks all for the comments.

Peter, you're right, it's the result of using tripod, small aperture (22) with a wide-angle lens (equiv. to around 28mm) and the flowers being sufficiently far from the lens to allow everything to be sharp (Well, the clouds don't need to be so critically sharp, they'll be blurred anyway because of a seconds-long exposure time... :-)
