This is the best photo I have seen of, in my view, the most ugly birds. The composition is fantastic! I first thought you 'photoshoped' this one, but after looking for a while I realize this one must be real. If you did not call it a sunset, I would complain about the red in the clouds. Great shot.

I like the piece of wood in the front. I think it is a bit big, maybe if you would have stepped away a bit it would be smaller. But I am not sure if that would have helped the picture.
The piece of wood reminds me of an animal skull with horns, which makes the feeling of the dessert greater.
This photo in color I like much better than your B&W.
