How is this for an action shot? I think this is one of my favorite
photos to date. I'd like to hear anyone else's thoughts!

-
Great shot, excellent composition and contrast of dark and light.
-
Wonderful colors and contrast.
-
One of the many bands on the "Sounds of the Underground" tour. Lamb
of God had great lighting and tons of fog, two things I always
enjoy. Critiques would be nice but please don't leave ratings of 1
or two without stating why. Thanks!

Awesome composition there! Did you use a flash? I've been contemplating the 10-22 but am a bit wary of it due to the terrible lighting at most of the venues I shoot at.
-
Nice shot of Happy Tom there, do you have any more! Somewhat off topnc, how was the show? I am really digging "Party Animals" and hope they hit the USA in support of it.
-
I really like the angle and colors here, the blue in the front, the blue in the back and the white main focus... very nice!
-
Excellent capture, tons of energy here.
-
Awesome shot Neil! Do you know the approximate focal length on this one? Was this handheld? Were you shooting from the crowd or did you have to sign the crazy licensing agreement to get a pass that I have been reading about? So many questions...
I'm getting a couple of new lenses for my Canon next week (24-70 2.8L and 70-200 2.8L) and this shot is making me strongly consider the Sigma 70-200 2.8 rather than the Canon :)
-
How about some critiques? I think I'm starting to get the hang of my
20d now...
-
Wow, Taime is really getting along in the years. Decent shot but I'm not sure if the man would want to be seen that way, he looks really spent :)
-
Nice framing and good use of focal points, I like the way his face is nice and sharp while the bass's headstock and his hand are blurred.
-
Awesome shot James. I thought these guys would be all tired out by now but your shots prove otherwise, lots of energy to be seen in this one.
-
Even though I missed the whole of his left hand I still thought this
shot came out really good, very crisp with good detail. Apart from
not getting his left hand in the frame any ideas for improvement
would be appreciated. I'll be posting more from this show (and also
King Diamond, the headliner) over the next few days. Note to those
who give 1s and 2s: Please give a reason why, I can't improve
without criticism. Thanks!

Nice action with the shutter drag! I would like to see both hands of both of them but you can't have it all.
-
Amazing how a guy in his mid-40s can get so much air! With my old
digital p&s this was simply not possible due to shutter lag. I think
I really like the immediate response of my DSLR, no wait time for
power-up and no perceivable shutter lag means no more missed
moments, at least none that I can blame on the camera :)
-
Awesome sense of motion going on here but clarity remains throughout. I wish the Wildhearts would come to Seattle. Awesome shot!
-
This is my first time shooting with this kind of extreme lighting.
Unfortunately I was restricted to shooting from the mixing board in
the back of the arena and I currently own no long glass :( If you
leave low ratings please give a reason, it's hard to improve
otherwise.
-
Thyis is LA thrash band Hirax at a small club in Seattle with almost
zero lighting. Getting familiar with my new camera. Yes, I know I
need to get a faster lens, just need funds.
-
Awesome action shot with minimal blur. I am very impressed!
-
Ozzfest was my first attempt at shooting outdoors with mostly
natural light. Just looking for some feedback on this shot. If you
give a low rating PLEASE give reasons, I can't improve otherwise!
-
If I could tell what was happening it would be much better.

A photo of Dream Theater's John Petrucci during a the song "Hollow
Years". Is the "star" being projected in the background too
distracting?
