Damn Velvia, so beautiful. I love how the colorful traditional outfit comes through

Just step in the rabbit hole!

Great shot, I would crop the right 1/3 away though.

I'm a bit lost on your choice of point of focus. Shooting at f/2.8 gives a very narrow DOF, you chose the face to be in focus while the artist's right hand is a very prominent blur. Also it would be nice if you can get some more background light. Nice pix regardless.

Definitely one of your best works! That tattoo is distracting though.

Tony, did you notice all the details mentioned and composed to capture them or saw them after you get the proof back? Or you sort of unconciously registered these fine details and instinctively go for the exposure? I just want to say that I really admire how you can take these deeply serious pictures while maintaining a light-hearted humorous nature. Please don't stop, feed us more of your pictures and comments! Thanks.

Out of the pix in the folder, I like this one the best. Maybe crop her a bit furthur to the left?

Those eyes would just pop right out of the picture. I'm not sure how to feel about the crop either. Lovely picture regardless.

First of all, as a relative beginner I find photo.net's gallery an extremely valuable learning resource and one of its best feature. In general, I tend to agree with the rating system.
WRT this week's POW, I immediately noticed something missing from the composition to let the viewer know that the subject is dancing. My question is how would one improve this picture? Wide cropping to include arms&legs? Including more dancing people in the background?
Aside from the above comment, I think the picture has successfully captured the woman in her trancy state, something I have observed but yet able to record. Congrat.

Carl, really enjoy your porfolio. A question on this picture: was PS used to desaturate the background? Thanks.

Wonderful picture!

I also like how the color gradient works out.
