1.
Just saying, tried to mark the presidential inauguration day with the appropriate camera, but no such luck, focus is out of whack, in both viewing and taking lenses, and the shutter fires at approximately the same speed.

Oh well - need to find time and send it for repair, eventually :-0. 2.
Hi Rick - looking good with that 6x6-er.
Glad to see your contributions to the classic thread.

 3.
Mamiya Sekor 50mm f/2 M42 - sweet lens even wide open, still kicks a** some 55 years later.

 4.
Latest hack, Argus sandmar 100mm made by Enna of Munich for the Argus C3 I think. It has the neat inscription US Occupied Germany on it. Cool little lens for what it is and very clean, optically it's meh though. I used an ltm thread mount to Fuji x adapter paired with a glued Minolta sr aftermarket body cap. This was drilled in the center and had the lens pressure screwed into the soft body cap plastic. Works well, but as mentioned not a lens I would bring to anything important.

 5.
Stephen that is awesome - I would love to see some photos of Saranda once you return - was born in Tirana myself so that would be quite the treat. Enjoy one of the nicest/smartest vacations today :-).

 6.
Just out of curiosity - are any of your esteemed forum members familiar with this neat continental style USSR contraption? It's plasticky - feels cheap, but operates perfectly and gave one contrasty image when checked the focus on ground screen. I must admit it has its charm and will be my tool of choice tomorrow around NYC Opera House and Central Park? Thoughts? Opinions?

 7.
Superb photos from a lovely camera - I love these rangefinders just because they are so unique, every time I have an opportunity, I snap them up if the price is right, and it usually is, I think I have 2-3 As and a couple of A-2s somewhere :-). Love the picture of that Mustang Rick, wonderful tones and beautiful curves. Thanks for your lovely posts as always.
QQ - are you positive the lens is 4 elements? I always thought these early rokkor examples were high quality triplets? Just out of curiosity....

 8.
Later that night, there was full moon, so I put on a lentar 2x teleconverter and a new old stock M42 Mamiya 300mm lens and took a peep at the moon - craters galore - the moon has a bad case of acne :-)

 9.
So - for this weekend, messed around with a beautiful old EKTAR Projection lens and rigged it on a crappy m42 Japanese aftermarket lens which had an in-tact focusing helicoid after a couple of hours of messing around, and some heavy use of Loctite glue, managed to get it together :-)

 10.
Thanks Chuck for commenting and it is nice to see you as well. I am glad our old crew is more or less in tact.

 11.
Mike - you said hybrid classic gear, what do you mean by that?

 12.
Hi Andy - good to see you - sorry its been a long radio silence on my end but am hoping to visit on more regular basis. Everyday life got too demanding with family and a recent move.

Will see if I can reverse the lens and get a little closer

 13.
On it Louis :-), picked up something like that at the dollar store, all I need is time now.

 14.
The problem is common for this camera - dried lubricants have an effect on the functionality of the mirror box. It needs service, and for someone that is reasonable I would say $60-70 USD should take care of the problem. Another issue could be the mirror bumper which deteriorates and turns into a messy goo. Hope you get it fixed as it is a nice camera.

 15.
Thanks Rick - in all seriousness, classic manual camera seriousness - that is, I have been amassing and using Exakta items, and repairing the pinholed shutters. I must say, it's been quite rewarding.

 16.
Thanks - this is more of a play and not letting the lens go to waste. Available light gave this effect, I wander if contrast would punch up in outdoor sunny days. Next thing is possibly making an aperture disk and placing it in front, maybe that will perk up sharpness.
