    Sand Nude

          12
Isn't this a follow up shot of Weston's nude on sand with axis lighting? But seriously, a wonderful image. The shadows and lack of a face add an element of mystery, which would be lost with a more literal treatment of both. Well done.

Paloa, nice use of positive and negative space. I like the cool tones of the shadows against the warmth of the sand. The sand looks alive in the dunes, as if it will eat the oasis. Shadows are blue, our eyes just don't work properly!

Angel, I do like this one. The setting of blossoms against the sky adds a nice touch of depth to the image and contrast in color as well. You might also rename it to "Cereza y Miel" pero, me gusta mucho.
  1. Very nice capture of the desert before a storm breaks, nice mood and feeling of brooding light. The saguaro on the right edge of the frame pulls me out of the image, away from the tree and sky. I would prefer a crop, but do like this picture, almost smell the creosote in the air.

Very nicely done image. It is a true slice of life. Where is the scooter headed? Is the motorcycle trying to catch up with her? Motion and life. I would like it better if it were cropped just to remove the sky. I find it pulls me out the far end of the picture. If the hanging laundry was the upper limit, I think it would bring me back into the picture more. Just a thought, but still very nice.

On my monitor, the image is correct, there is good detail in the lowest zones and exposure is very nice. The use of reflected light is especially pleasing to me and color is perfect.
