Shot this one on day 5 of an amazing 8-day backcountry trip in the

Sierra Nevada. Thanks for your comments.

Kenneth,I really do prefer your older images, the colors and tonal values seem much more striking and it looks like you waited around for better light. This is overexposed and there is no detail in the right side of the image. The magic is just not here.

Ken, I always enjoy viewing your posts, the quality of which is consistently very high . This one fits the profile. I like the way you've used the dead tree to break up the large area of water. Ever feel the need to make very large prints? Ready for large format perhaps? Only half joking, LM.

Great shot, Ken. I love the dead log in the bottom right. I duplicated the layer using the multiply blend mode and set opacity to around 60% in the attached to see how it would look a little richer.

On my monitor, the image is correct, there is good detail in the lowest zones and exposure is very nice. The use of reflected light is especially pleasing to me and color is perfect.

I have to agree with Thomas Breazeale about the unusual tonal values on the mountains. They look like an overly "curved" effect in PS. A 81B filter might warm things up a little in high-altitude, too.

Was the slide strong in Magenta, too?

again, another stunning image - I like the inclusion of foreground interest too, but how would this look with a bit more contrast? It looks more like Provia than Velvia at the moment...
