Hmmm, where have I seen the 'frozen jump into the Ganges,' before... still I find your composition intriguing with some original elements.. I enjoy the additional complexity of this shot in particular the curved hook between the two boys and the wire and girder shapes. However I've found that more complex images such as this don't translate as well onto the screen.. larger print must be excellent. Begs to be bw, I'm not sure if you're a purist but did you try a bw conversion?

Agree with Marc, if you can bring out a little more shadow detail and hold some wall detail top right I think the lighting adds to the composition. Well done.

Beautiful shot...

Excellent juxtaposition of two persons obviously in differing circumstances. Great eye to see the interesting and somehow appropriate wall behind them. Guatemala is a fascinating place to photograph once one gets past the 'pretty' shots.. well done.

Advice!!?? This is a beautiful shot, captures the 'moment' in portrait, relaxed and unposed. When I see images like this here I always wonder what the actual print looks like.. this would be for me what would take your image to the 'next level.' I hope there's a nice toned print in your portfolio or framed somewhere. Well done.

Neat play with the grafitti.

Excellent stitch job. Too much contrast for my taste. Would have been better either slightly over cast day or, since you didn't mind the stitch why not multiple exposure and layering to get some detail into those interesting archways.

Classic twilight poster shot.. well done.
-
In my opinion, ditch the frame.

This was shot as a volunteer for a local school funding protest group and used in a poster. The image was framed to alow text lower left.

Fun ps.. better I think cropped to lose the cyclist on the left.
-
Outstanding..
-
Nice idea, perhaps a little tighter crop, get rid of some of the negative space at top and left of frame.
-
Love your composition and use of negative space here.. for some reason I find that it looks like she has a missing finger disturbing.
-
Wow, great moment, I like this crop, well done.

Looks like fall 1901. Well done.
-
Very photogenic people, you've captured them in some interesting activities.. I like this style.
-
If contrasty is the look you were after you got it... wish we could see just a little detail in the guy on the left's face though.
-
Geez... just happened to have your Mamiya handy.. I sick with envy. How fast can you fire off a few frames?? The guy in the center is unfortunate but since you didn't mind enhancing the background blur I wonder if it might be stronger with him blurred a bit into the background??

Just a bit dark and perhaps a little soft.. could just be the scan.
-
Great moment, nice composition.. I'm always curious about what's missing when there's obviously been a major crop.. otherwise perfect.

Just found these great shots while browsing your glamour shots.. great shots.. decisive moment, composition, stories, beautiful work.. I understand you shot these over 30 years ago, interesting evolution of your shooting style. IMHO all good shots studio or otherwise are decisive moments and your skill manifests itself here.
