A wonderful image, beautifully captured.
-
Also included in this herd was a very handsome mature buck with
6-point antlers. He stayed back in the brush, however.
-
This particular bird kept totally still for at least five minutes
while a Northern Harrier sat on a tree branch nearby.
-
It was right around 32°F (0°C). Much of the water was ice.

When you go to curves, Shift click on the point that you want to be neutral. You will see a crosshairs left at that point. Set your RGB values to be equal. This will give you a neutral grey at that point and the rest of the image will follow. Levels and Hue/Saturation are something you must decide for yourself.
-
I used curves to correct for the extreme blue sky light which is dominant here, brought the contrast up a bit in levels and tweaked the hue/saturation just a bit to make the wonderful reflections in the glass pop. Hope you like it. The roof edge on the right is a bit strong but not out of place.

There were hundreds of cranes in this small pond but this one seemed
to wish to be left alone.
-
It could be the buildings!

The textures and tones here are truly fine. And, the only TV antenna is in the reflection in the water at lower right. The bridge and its reflection are neatly placed within this small vignette of Venetian life. Well done.
-
It's only a sparrow singing.
-
A "blast" is the simultaneous liftoff of hundreds or thousands of
birds from one spot. In this case, Snow Geese.
-
Ah leave 'em in. It seems so bland without 'em.

This is certainly one of the better captures of this scene. Usually there are dogs and tourists wading in the water so I assume you got up there early for this spectacular image. Nicely balanced with the filters and technically as good as it gets for a 35mm shot. It's nice to see you're back and shooting again. I missed seeing your splendid images.
I see that among the 70 ratings given this image at this point there are three who gave 5s with a combined total of 0 images posted between them. Ah the drive-by critics are everpresent.

The idea is cool. The various pairs of tracks lead the eye away a bit.

This is pretty amazing. Don't they have cable?
The highlight on the nearest pole is really hot. Was the sun peeking through somewhere off to the right? The pastels are quite nice here. I might have whittled a bit on the left side to maintain a more vertical feeling but it's a wonderful capture of an interesting location.

Thanks Michael, I almost drove past this scene on the way back to our B&B. It developed late.
-
The blue of the sky occupies too much space and the tower tilts to the left. It really needed more dramatic lighting but what can you do? A very interesting structure to be sure.
-
As far as the fog goes, why would you want to eliminate it? It gives a wonderful sense of depth and mystery to the image that it wouldn't otherwise have. I might have burned in the bottom a bit to subdue it but maybe not.
-
I like the building shape, the gateway and the red lanterns but I might have just settled for two out of three. The details are truly nice.
-
It does tilt a bit but part of that is perspective as you were tilting the lens upward slightly. I still like the fascinating portrait of universal humanity here.

The last time I flew over Alaska it was all ice and glaciers. Have you any idea where in Alaska this was? It's a wonderful view of textures and values.

A bit of a different look at a hot-air balloon glow in.
-
We had just had our first hot-air balloon ride the morning before this
ascension in Gallup, NM. It was in such a beautiful place
that we stayed around to photograph it before heading back to
Colorado. It was a lovely morning with minimal winds and the balloons
were able to hang around for a very long time giving us many
opportunities for striking images.
