1.
I have several Minolta Manual Focus Cameras. Something that you should think about is the repair possibility of the classic cameras you want. All the X series of Minolta cameras use electronic to control the shutter of the camera, if this electronic died, you camera is death. In contrast the SR(T) series use only mechanical control for the shutter, so if something broke, a skilled and talented technician with a 3d printer (or with enough spare pieces) can repair you camera.

 2.
@Mark, I post my question in Minolta/sony forum but the moderator move it here ;-(
@Bebu I try tofind if it's a "feature" or a problem with my personal camera
@Ben Someone post on another forum point that happen when switching lens or battery, the next power-up, the camera analyse the new equipment

@CC I do have the 1.02 last firmware.

 3.

The camera is
Body:ILCE-7R
VER. : 1.02
Lens was fe 35mm 2,8 Zeiss
Ver.01
Everytime I got a new camera I love to take it to a trip.
I spend the last week in Boston, and everytime I see a beautifull punk or a strange tourist and I try to take a fast picture of them the A7R became iresponsive.
This is how it's happen. I alway put the A7R at off to save the batteries.
When I saw something I put it to ON, wainting to see the picture on the LCD, and put the trigger. Nothing, waiting one-two seconds, nothing. something it takes minutes (well, maybe 30 seconds) before finally getting the picture taked and the Punk/Tourist is long way away.
I try anything with setting, the best setting, is no image on the lcd, only information and the eye in the efv when the image apperars (2s after powered the camera) I can take the picture.
But even, with no image in the lCD when I don't get the eye in the evf I can get a picture.
Did someone here had the same problem and did you find a solution ?
Thank You!

 4.
I got A7R with 1.0.2 firmware.

Tested with Viltrox EOS-NEX (electric coupled but with MF lens), No name m42-nex, no name MD-nex and M-39-NEX
I assing Focus Magnifier to C3, each time I press the button, I got a rectangle in the center of the screen, I try t press it twice or three times, I only get this rectangle, and an indication in the upper left corner with 1.0x
Then when I press the center button of the back dial I got a 7.2x magnifation for 1 second, then return to normal
Focus Magnif. time is no limit
MF Assit is ON
I got the same behavior with the Zeiss FE 35 2.8 when Focus mode set to Manual focus.
Since I read, that I should have choice between 6x and 12x and I should press twice on the c3 button to have the 6x, threee time to have the 12x.
So my question is what I do wrong ?

 5.

I’m a owner of a lot fo Canon EOS DSLR and lenses: Including 5d, 5dii, 70d with 500f4, 85f1.2 to name a few. So I had a lot of commitment in EOS.
My main pleasure of making picture is in Landscape, Birds in flight and Portrait.
Recently, I was thinking that should buy, primary for Portrait and Landscape a upgrade the MP in the quest for better IQ and detail in my creation.
Unfortunately, Canon didn’t have alternative to the 5dII for more IQ and MP. Every rumours about next Canon talk about low MP (±20mp) replacement, and not until 2015-2016.
So my long quest for something more gives me 3 choices: A7R, D800 and Pentax 645Z
I’m thinking of D800 more seriously, with this choice, I will get a complete system where I can sell all my Canon stuff and get some Nikon lens.
But, it’s all a move, I always looking people that do the system switching like a bad idea, but again, I'm here today.
What are you thinking about Canon offering in the next year ?
Should I wait? Someone have the same thinking ?

 6.
I have the Canon M with EOS-EF, Minolta MD and M42 adaptor.
So far So good.
I didn't get the Canon branded adaptor, but get an off brand with lens contact.
If you want to use Nikon lens, you can have an adaptor directly for your lenses insteed of using two stacked.

 7.
Thank you Fred you explain a lot of my feeling about this filter.

I'm here to talk and look about art, not about a religion, I don't know why I have to ask the permission to look at art on a web site that is devoted to art because some people that doesn't share the spirit of art but the spirit of repression of art and impose their view on what art should be and what art is not.

My religion, the one the bible and the Iliad taught me, tell me that the nature, including the naked human body, is a creation of gods, and some gods, like the one in the bible doesn't like people wearing clothes, like I said in a previous comment.

But, the religion based on the new testament, also said that violence and weapons of any kind are bad. If you ever take time to read it. So my religion, and the religions of 50% of the people on this planet whom happen to share Christianity has a religion or a philosophy find weapons hiddous, so why not a filter on gun, because I dont want my children to be impressed at the view of imposed guns, knifes, sabers and others cimitery,

So, now, my comment, is when I see all others photographics sites where I go doesn't have restriction on nude picture, so why photo.net, why photo.net should be again the free expression of art, again religion, why do you put restriction on photo based on one religion and again all other religion. The freedom of religion, is not about ONE religion putting restriction on all other religion.

And tell me, which creator, art or nature, will said that is work is bad and should not be looked at ?
That said, just look who in history make restriction on art and why they had done it !

 8.
Gleen, don't take this too litteral, but I will love to live in a country where I can proof my beautiful relation with my gods without others people getting upset by my way to express my religion, unfortunately, I don't live in a country where freedom of religious expression is a right ;-) Look even Cara write a :)

 9.
I got a M and I had adaptors for old M42, Minolta MD/MC, Canon FD, EF, obviously, the focal length is the same, but you have the same multiplication / magnification factor (1.6x) for the apparent focal length and aperture that you find on any others Canon APS-C camera. If you want to have a full frame mirrorless where you can use all your lens with the same aperture and multiplication factor that a 35mm camera, the only choice actually is the Sony A7 & A7r camera.

You have to understand that a 80mm on a 4x5, 6x6, 35mm or aps-c sensor keep the same focal length but the magnification differ because the sensor only receive a part of the light, this effect also change the aperture effect on the apparent out of focus blur.

By the way, I order my different off-brand M adaptors from ebay.com and chiness sites like dx.com

 10.
It's been more than 10 years that I'm part of photo.net, it's the first time a post I made have 3 pages of answers.
Anyway, I was reading all theses religious/politics implications of the nude art/ photography in USA. The I remember the religious books I read when I was younger.
One of them, the bible, said this about nudity :

genesis 2:25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
So for the religious people who follow the preaching of the bible, they should not be shamed by the view of naked people.
futher reading in the same book after the beast/devil/talking snake trick the woman and the man to eat some drugged fruit (...):
Genesis 3:7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves things to gird about.
So eating something fruity-drug that make them turning away from god and believing that's been naked is bad.

If I understand this part of this book, people you wear clothes are following the teaching of the devil in the talking snake and are again the way the creator, the guy named god in the story, make them.

So creating a filter to hide the creation of god, the human body, it's again the teaching of the Bible. quod erat demonstrandum

 11.
I don't believe they don't go dual pixel for all their new camera.
It's like being in 2008 again, again, again, again, Groundhog Day they said.

The last real new Camera is the 5dMKII, the MKIII is just a reworked af, and the 6d is a 5dMKII with incompatible battery.
Ok! I'm thinking of going on the A7R way. I have some lenses to sell!

 12.
@Jim & @James, I'm sorry, I don't know the content of FOX or MSNBC, and I only know CNN by the web and movie about it,
Maybe, if you tell me about it I will understand why the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, hide the art with frontal nude male ;-)
when I go in the USA, i only listen to espn-latino in the evening to see some european footbal with these "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL" from the commentator, even if I don't understand spanish, that to much !

 13.
Reading all comments, I was thinking why someone in photo.net staff want to impose they religious morale to whom are looking at this site. If people are shocked by nudes pictures they just have to look somewhere else. period.
It's like, someone tell you, your wife need to have a veil on her hair because it's exiting me. Well, maybe you need some counselling or medical assistance, but do not impose your view to everyone.
When, I first came here more than 10 years ago, it's was a free (like in right) place to share arts linked to photography paradigm.
And the predominant photo/art section of this sites was the nudes pictures made by the founder of this site mr Philip Greenspun
Like Billy Joel said in Piano Man Lyrics : "Man, what are you doin' here?",
You're going to destroy the purpose of this site : sharing photographic art.
Remember that in occidental art and also in oriental art, african art, and every art, even christian religious art (before Victoria's era) nude was the predominant form of art, you can see penis, breast, ass, name it in every church (of all religion) all over the wolrd (excluding maybe the USA and the late Muslim era church/temple).

Anyway, stop the censure in a art sharing place!

 14.
Dear Bela Laszlo Molnar I respect your opinion, but as a humanist, I will said this child, mine, express his opinion and feeling.
let your inner child speak, don't let the conditions of worth based on a morale dated from bronze age telling you how to react.

Dear Starvy Goodfellows It's happen unindependant of my browser and platform. I use 3 differents browser on Android and on my Linux desktop. I suppose this elements are server side managed .

 15.
I look at photo.net mostly to see naked women ;-) and get some inspiration for my work
Since some weeks, I experience strange behavior when I look at nude picture, even after I modify my setting in my workspace [Cover nude images: disable | enable]
Everytime I back in this site and look at some picture, I have to enable/disable/reenalbe/redisable this setting to see directly the pictures without the annoying WASP anti-freedom of thought and anti-freedom of information veil.
SO, my remark, it's that I will love to see this bug repaired,
Thank you

00cMWf-545295584.jpg.fcaee4264826d0f99748caa75724069e.jpg

 16.
Decrease of DSLR sale because of the economic situation or the non-innovation from Canon ?
I Got 3 new bodies and 4 news lenses this year.
I have a aging 5dII, don't see the 5dIII as a improvement, will not upgrade until the AF reach the functionality and quality of the Elan IIe or the EOS-3 but I will buy another Canon if I got something like the full frame mirrorless with dualpixel focus with more Mpixel .
Canon where are you ? your marketing doesn't work. period. innovation work.

 17.
I use numerous M42 and M39 (Helios) lens on different body (10d, 20d, 70d, 5d, 5d mkII, M) without any problem except for the mirror of the 5D and a Pentax 28mm.
If you think eventually buying AF lens, get the 70d, the AF is just WOW, almost fast like a manual focus ;-) but you got the 1.6x bokeh decrease.
On the 5d sometime the AE is off with stop down.
