I will use onother film, and a filter probably (but I do not use filter with any other Leica lenses).
I have to say that I used every aperture, from 1,4 up to 16. But even inside the museum, where I was shoting, with natural (from the windows) and indoor lights, the diaphrgram 1,4 was not only very impressive, but cold too. Outside the museum the old ruins I shoted given a stunning effect: they were living and massive, with a dof never seen before.

I proved the new Summilux 1,4 asph. Well, what can I say? All the
photos have been shoted at 3 p.m. in a iced, brilliant, clear day.
Too much probably, The film was a normal slides Kodak press 100.
Unluckly I cannot post any of them because I have no system for, but
I can say you my personal impressions: The lens is crisping too much.
And too much is my impression for everything I noticed: dof,
clearness, separation of the colours and so on. Bokeh quite does not
exist, every thing is in focus or very very in close up. 3D very
good, but but... this is the point... it is a cold lens, it is very
similar to a Zeiss lens (I have the Contax system too for this I may
compare). It is a Leica lens, undoubtly, but, Impo, with a Zeiss
pecularity.
It is not a painter brush, it is a Messer, a scalpel, a double razor.

In your experience, amongst all Leica lenses, which is the most flare
prone?
Joe

Why not? With its proper viewfinder every thing is possible...

I am thinking, since one month, to buy the new 50/1,5 summilux asph.
Is it really worth the 2,300 Euros I must disburse in order to obtain
this gem? Or the old one is just enough? Can somebody over there help
me? (I do not want to collect money for this my personal capriccio).
Thank you

If I desire to enter into the R world, whcih camere is best, R6.2 or
R8? Consider that I will use the R system only for tele photos, for
all other purpose I wll continue to use my M system.
Thanks

Wait for the Zeiss!

change the magazine
use only Leica - Kindermann magazine!
Cardboard or low quality slide mounts does not matter!
The magazine is important.
Leica magazine is completely different!!!!!!
The normal magazine is useful only with glass-slides!

going to dismiss the production of the kodacrome 64 and 200?

Is it right what is going to be said somewhere(id est on the German
Leica Forum)the Solms is thinking about a new 50/2 Summicron?
Please, let me know...
Joe
-
Better than the Summicron at 2 and at 5,6?
So it seems from the official diagrams of Leica....
Joe

Ok ok, but what about Turin where there is a show with more than 70 historical photos, from Capa to Erwitt and so on? Of course all is under the "regia" of Renzo Piano....
Happy new year

Please, can you help me to understand the difference between the
three type of Visoflex?
Can I use my normal M lenses with them?
In a macro system, with the appropriate bellow, are they as good as
the R macro line lenses?
Thanks
-
In my very personal opinion, the only real flare free vw is that of the old M3. In certain condition even the new (!) MP is not much better than that of the old (!) M7 which seems to be even better.
-
Why Leica has not produced an angle viewfinder for the M series?
Don't you think that it will be usefull?
Thanks for your answers.
Joe
-
Once for all: that's not. The number they (directly from Solms) communicated me is 285xxx and this was at the end of february. But the flare free viewfinder may be just a mith related to the type of the finder. The 0.85 one will have always some problems, but not the 0,58. By, Joe.

Yes, Henry, it's simply beautiful, but how much? And where and when? Thanks. Joe

I f you do not know what Lourdes is, please do not talk about it, or, more politely, try to have respect for thousends of sick and old peple that go there. Not every body is in good health as we are and is neither politly, nor a manifestation of humor, make jokes of them and of a place like Lourdes.

As I am new in the digital field, I desire to have information on the
possible defects of the Leica D1 system. Thanks. Joe
