  1. Forgot to mention the above shot is from my balcony and handheld.
  2. It's August and hot as all blazes. Hope everyone is keeping him and herself safe. It would be most cool if you shared your Canon FD, etc. shots with us. Last month was short and sweet. Hoping for the best in August. I'll start withf a July 4th shot. Canon FD 28-50/3.5 on a Fuji X-E2 + Metabones Speed Booster. Next frame.
  3. FDn 28-55/3.5-4.5 + Metabones Speed Booster + Fuji X-E2
  4. Sorry to be late in posting this. Just in from Tokyo. My big news is that I finally found the FDn 28-55/3.5-4.5 at Lemon Camera in the Ginza. Please, friends show us your FD, etc. shots, latest or earliest or whatever. I'll be coming in later.
  5. The M7 is the last of the electronically control RF cameras. The CLE, Konica RF, Ziess Ikon and the various Voigtlanders are made no more. Thus the M7 has become an antique too. Ironic that the most advanced RF film cameras are antiques. My M7 needed to be rebuilt. When it comes back will for intents be a new M7 (at a hefty price). I will see a lot of use and it might outlive me. Digital has everything over film except one thing. You can change lenses frequently and not worry about dust on the sensor because there is no sensor.
  6. Hi ho, Canon FD, etc. shooters. It's June! It either the birth pangs of summer or the death rattles of spring. Either way, show us your stuff! I'll start. I shot this scene from the car as my wife was driving. The lens is an FD 55/1.2 on a Metabones Speed Booster attached to a Fujifilm X-E2. I will, swear I will, go out with my film Canons soon.
  7. Hanshin Expressway on a raiiny night, Kobe. Canon FD 55/1.2 + Metabones Speed Booster + Fujifilm X-E2. Cropped and highlighted.
  8. Sorry to be late! Please post your beautiful images, FD, etc. shooters! May you make May merry!
  9. Thanks for the good words!! Shot this with my Fuji XT-1 + 90/4. Scanned on a flatbed, an Epson GT-F740. It's actually quite good, though a dedicated scanner would be sharper. Actually this maybe ideal for landscape, where you really do not want a hard edge. This photo was taken between December 2017 and January 2018. Official winter. It's been cold in northern hemisphere. During the past week I needed the heater. Only in the last day or so have temperatures risen. It will be 30 degrees C in Kyoto tomorrow. Thus we will have jumped from winter directly into summer. We been having bright skies in the Kobe area recently but no meterological dramas. The sun has shifted behind the apartment complex, so the great sunsets are out. Time to get back into street photography?
  10. Typo gremlin. "some time" in winter.
  11. Fuji TX-1 + 90/4. From my balcony something in Winter. Nice weather these days but not dramatic.
  12. Yo! It's April! It's Spring! The cherry blossoms are out! Share your photos with us, FD, etc. shooters! I shot the below with an FD 35-50/4 + Metabones Speed Booster on a Fujifilm X-E2. It was from my front balcony and I cropped it into a panoramic image.
  13. Hey,great shots. Michigan ice and long lost Mstang. Things are happening up in Michigan. I've used the thorium FD 25/2 on my Leica M240. No worse than any heavy lens. The weight makes it interesting.
  14. Well, that's Shodoshima shot with a Canon FDn old-style non-aspherical 100-300/5.6 zoom + Canon to Nikon adapter on a Nikon D700. I knew destiny had something in store for me when I bought that redundant lens.
  15. March is here and soon--no matter how cold it is--Spring will be upon us! Well, FD, etc. shooters, let's do it! Give us the best you've got. Or even the worst if it is interesting. This is a lead into the photo I am sharing with you. It is a shot of Shodoshima (Shodo Island) from my balcony. It was made with a Canon FDn non-aspherical 100-300/5.6 zoom attached to a Nikon D700 via an FD to Nikon F adapter. The adapter, which has glass elements, is in fact a x1.4 teleconverter. You've no doubt heard that a converter like this degrades (softens) the image. I have not found this to be outstanding. There was mist around Shodoshima when I was shooting. The image was bound to be soft whatever lens I used. This converter is best used with telephone lenses and worst used with wide angles. I'll try it with a normal (50-55mm) lens someday. Meanwhile, I am happy with it of the 100-300/5.6 zoom. And, yes, I have the aspherical version. I got the non-aspherical one for about ten dollars. In perfect condition, it was relegated to "Junk" at Naniwa Camera. The photo will follow shortly.
  16. Thanks for all the information, Christopher and JDMVW. No need for me to post photo of the VIDOM as everyone either knows what it looks or can find a photo of it on the Net. The trick is seeing the world upside down as I shoot. Disconcerting the first day. More fun today. HCB said it helped him frame better. I'm sensing that. I am using it on the Fuji X-E1 with a Fuji autofocus 35/1.4 (=50). Closeups are tricky--more so than with other external finders I've used. The VIDOM is wonderfully clear. Nothing I've shot is worth posting yet but I am having fun. Thanks again.
  17. I bought a silver chrome Leitz "torpedo" finder in good condition at Naniwa Camera, Kobe today. Its frames are 3.5, 5.. 7.3, 9. 10.5, 13.5. Don't know its acronym. I want to learn how to use it. Anyone with experience? Will post photo tomorrow.
  18. Here is another. Both shots from my balcony. Above is Shodo Island and below is just some stuff.
  19. Friends! Here is a shot with my FDn 100-300/5.6 L and Metabones Speed Booster for Canon FD coupled with a Fuji X-E2.
