Hello all,
I am in need of development times for 320TX and 400TX using Pyrocat
HD at 1:1:100 at 70F. Any help with these times would be helpful.
Thanks
Mike

As explained before, process the Delta 400 in a developer that normall results in a speed loss. For example if you would normally rate Delta 400 at 320 or 250 in HC-110, just process it at N-1. You will end up with a bit denser negative but the N-1 should help to control the higher densities. You will have printable negatives.

I have a Flex Body and I slos have the Distagon 50/f4 T* and it works fine. In fact, I find that I get more movement than Hassy says.
Great camera, use it well and enjoy.

I was give an ALPA 12 by a close friend who own two, it was a gift. I used it for a few weeks and found it to be a winderful camera. With the lens, back, and viewer it was a bit heavy and bulky, but not much more so than most MF cameras.
After a few weeks I returned the camera to my buddy and thanked him but decided that I did not enjoy using it that much. If I am going to take the time to use a ground glass back my 4x5 does as good if not a better job with its movements and larger film size. I already have a Sinar Handy that is similar in use and approach,, but also shoots 4x5 film.
The ALPA is a wonderfully beautiful puppy, very well made and as solid as they come, but, in MF I love my Blads.

I have seen these AF problems before. My buddy purchased a 6008AF a month after I got mine. He could not get sharp images no matter what he did. I always thought my images were sharp, but I found the AF to be slow and it hunted alot.
I sold the camera and bought the H1. Huge difference, AF is very fast and accurate, images are much sharper. I loved the Rollei 6008AF, but now realize that the system has issues.

Yup, use selenium when I want a kick in highlights.
Great film, use it almost exclusively with 4x5. Makes great palladium prints as well.

I have a holder and 8 film packs that I have been reloading for about 2 years now. If you find any please let us know. I have searched and can no longer find the film packs.
These are great items and work great for trips. I can load 64 sheets of film and not have to worry about changing film on the trip.

DDX at 1:6, 1:7 and 1:8 is an excellent developer for many film types.
Here are my processing times for this developer.<p>

My friend just purchased a slightly used one with 80mm lens for $4800.
-
B&H sent me 6 bottles last week. The definitely have it in stock.
-
Forget the Acufine and use a real developer. The chaulky look is typical of this developer in daylight.
Why are you shooting at EI-800 in daylight?
-
You guys are really losing it.
Who in their right mind gives a horses ass about Bokeh?

Al,
As your project continues and evolves into something significant, I can help you get a show at the 1st Street Gallery in Boca Raton. They are currently closed for the summer, (Palm beach County still does this seasonal stuff), but in the fall I can set you up with the owner.
You can check out their webisite at www.1streetgallery.com

Why add ice, just adjust your time to process at you tap water temperature as long as it is not too warm. Anywhere around 75F is fine. Just be consistent.

Thanks William.
I checked the film date and guess what? The box at issue was in fact expired. Seems like lately I have been getting short dated film everytime I order.
A sign of the times I think.

These holders are only a month old. I opened a brand new box of T55 today and the problem no longer exists. I this that this was due to faulty packets.
I also tape the clip after exposure. I normally carry a pack of Avery file folder labels. The only problem is to gently remove the label prior to reinserting the packet for processing.
Anyway, looks like my problem is solved.
Thanks
Mike

I recently received an order of Polaroid Type 55 for a project I am
working on. Yesterday, on location I found that after exposing and
removing the film packets without processing, the metal clip would
not adhere securely to the packet.
This resulted in an umber of sheets of film inadevertently pulling
out of the packets. At first I thought this might be caused by the
holder so I used a second holder and has the same problem. I have
never experienced this before and am a bit baffled.
Both holders are only a few months old.
Any thoughts?

Hello Richard,
I am in Boca Raton.
Don't get out much this time of year as it is hot and humid. Winter is more to my liking. I tend to shoot mostly in the studio during the summer.
However, I am always open to a good sweat as long as the subject is worthwhile.

Tri-X of course. Is there anything else? ;-)

The answer to your question reslly depends on the look youwant. I have a Schneider 65/5.6 on my 4x5 Sinar handy and shoot the lens at f/8 90% of the time. I like fall off as I shoot primarily B&W and it really adds to the expressive nature of my imeages.
My close friend David Michael Kennedy is in the process of a 3 year trip across country. he is shooting the entire project (thousands of photos) on with a 4x5 and a 65mm f/8 lens and Polaroid Type 55 film.. He also shoots wide open and the fall off is extraordinary.

Very good article. I especially likes the part about journalists all using the same two cameras and same 3-4 lenses all making similar pictures.
Very enjoyable reading.

Without being rude, I often wonder why people who know absolutely nothing about a subject post responses that sound as if they are based in absolute fact.
Mr. Schub is correct. If truly you were defrauded and your bank did not make good on your account, I would suggest that you pursue the situation further.
I hope Jay has resolved his situation.

I would like to see your Pyro formula and hear what it does for you.
Thanks

I have also been using 320TX and it's earlier versions for quite some time. I process it in Ilford DDX and sometimes in Rodinal depending whta look I am after.
I really believe that this film is one of Kodaks best kept secrets. Too many folks don't understand it and don;t take the time to test it or get used to using it.
Will Hasselblad cease all production and selling of V system?
in Medium Format

A meter is not really a must have for a MF camera. I own a Hasselblad 905 SWC and a Flexbody. neither of which have integral meters. When in doubt I use a handheld meter, but most times I just go by experience and bracket.
I really hope that the V-System hangs around for a while and would love to see a 503 AF be developed parallel with the H series. Although I don't see that happening because digital backs such as the P25 take advantage of the 645 format.
