The current 35 M lenses will become 50 equivalents. But we're getting off track here - my question is about digital "optimization."
-
No Charles, 28x1.33 = 35 equivalent.
-
There is, reportedly, a new M 28 lens on the way from Leica to pair
with the new digital M. I am assuming that this lens is going to
be "optimized" for digital.
My question is, what does "optimized" for digital really mean and,
assuming Leica offers this new 28 in chrome, will I want to buy it to
use exclusively for film? Thanks in advance for your responses.

If you had shot in B&W, like you are supposed to with a Leica, you would have solved all your color problems.
-
Is that an attempt at ironic humor Paul? Of all people to make such a statement - you go through cameras like dirty underwear.
-
I nominate Peter to be the next Leica CEO. I hope Leica is listening. Peter, when you become CEO of Leica, please make your first act is to issue a chrome 28 M lens to go with my chrome 0.58 MP. Thanks.

I am selling perhaps the best camera yet made for street/travel
shooting - a Contax T3 and accessories, all in pristine to new
condition. Please contact me privately if you are interested.
-
It will be a two lens combo until your soon-to-be-next camera fetish.buying spree.
-
Why the f#@$%! doesn't Leica make a chrome 28? Indeed, why does Leica
make a chrome MP 0.58 and no chrome 28 to go with it? I need one to
go with my chrome MP 0.58. You listening Leica? This is seriously
pissing me off!

Thank you, both.

I am looking at getting one of these Bay 60 to 67mm adaptors to use
with my CFE 80/2.8. Question is, will I still be able to use the
hood over this step-up adaptor? Anyone experienced with this? Thanks.

I use two regular end caps glued together. Works very well but a bit longer than the original coupler cap.

I am looking for accessory gridline screens that could be dropped into
the WLF on a Hasselblad. I suppose I could make these myself by
printing the appropriately-sized grid onto transparency film with a
laser printer and just cut it to size. But is anyone aware of such a
device/product that is commercially available?

Check the Artisan & Artist Rina Case: http://www.artisanandartist.com/acc/acamrina.htm

Inspires me to get a DSLR. My money is that at least 23 of the 24 are digital capture.

Thank you Robert.

I am potentially interested in getting a prism for my 501 CM and was
wondering whether there are any prisms that reverse the image so that
it appears normal, i.e., as a scene would appear to the naked eye or
like a 35mm SLR?
-
Thanks everyone for your quick and thoughtful responses. I am leaning Hasselblad.
-
I am trying to decide between a new Hasselblad 501CM kit or a Pentax
67II kit. Cost is not a primary issue. I would use the camera mostly
for tripod-mounted, bulb-exposure landscapes, but it would have other
uses as well. Begin the feedback please.

I'm waiting for the Digilux 3.

I was unaware of this Zeiss-Ikon camera until today. I guess my point was that it would be pretty easy for VC to make the same camera using the Heliar lens, Bessa L chassis, and the 15 viewfinder optics.
It would be damn cool - to answer my own question.
-
Cute answer, but simply not the same camera.
-
Cosina Voigtlander produced a fixed lens wide-angle camera like the
Zeiss-Ikon shown in this Christie's auction catalog?!!!!
-
Those a-holes! Why make a chrome body and not the lenses to match?!!!!
Leica '0', would love to read some opinions on it.
