  1. Let me see . . . how do I get this 11x11 FB print in the slot on my computer here so I can post it on the photo.net website to show all these digitally-fixated camera geeks that B&W FILM AND FB PAPER RULES!!!!

Just because this camera has a Leica lens does not make it particularly Leica-noteworthy over, for example, the Olympus E-330. We might just as well get all bent out of shape about that camera here too. There is a digital camera forum you know.

By the way, among other cameras, I do own an M6 0.85 and an MP 0.58 along with a bunch of Leica glass. The MP and a 35/2 is my favorite Leica combo, but the Hasselblad gets used most these days. At least until Leica finally introduces a F*^&@#$ chrome 28 lens!

And finally, color film is only for taking pictures of pretty flowers and sunsets with SLR cameras. It should not be used in rangefinders.

  2. All this hand-wringing over digital this and that (cameras, scanners, storage, formats, manipulation, printers, archival issues) instead of developing your own film and setting up a traditional darkroom which is actually not that difficult, troublesome or expensive.

I'll repeat my usual mantra - FILM RULES! (particularly B&W film)

  3. So I have a bunch of cash to burn and am thinking about ordering a black paint

M7 with chrome MP controls. Anyone out there have a body like this who would

care to post some photos? I would like to see what this looks like for real

before burning $3700. Yes, I already know about the "Configurator" at the Leica

    website - a tiny front-on photo that looks artifical/digital/fake.

    By the way, FILM RULES!

  4. One nice thing about using the magnifier is that, along with everything else, it also enlarges the focusing patch, making it a bit easier to focus.

If you want to use a combination of lenses such as 35 and 28. I would suggest going for the 0.58 magnification rangefinder, and using the magnifier if you need it for the 35. I primarily use the 0.58 for the 35 and 50 without a magnifier and have no problems focusing, even with my glasses.
