Don't get started down THAT path.

I made a special trip to Chicago last October for the Weston
exhibit. It was a really miserable presentation, with not enough
light and too many prints crowded together. Also note, it was not
exactly Weston's golden years. In short: it stank! Hope the
Phillips does better.

You might consider using a developer which is known to lose a stop of
speed, such as Microdol-X 1+3 or, even better, in ABC Pyro.

If the frame lines for the 50mm showed 100% true field, rather than
only 80%, it would be used a great deal more, instead of having to
resort to a 35mm. A seperate finder showing the exact field is
allowed HC-B to shoot virtually all his pictures with a 50mm lens.

I've had the hots for a 5x7 camera for some time. After studying
everything I can find on the web and asking around, I decided to give
myself a GANDOLFI Traditional for my 70th birthday (which comes up a
lot sooner than I really wish). The quality is at least as good, and
perhaps even better, than the Ebony, while the price is competative
with Wisner and Canham, and the weight and rigidity are exceptional.
Meanwhile, I've bought a 45/57 extension back from Dan Smith to tide
me over.

Minolta has never received the credit it deserves for giving cameras
and lenses to Gene Smith near the end of his life, and sponser the
Minemata(sp) project. (His equipment was often pawned.)

No, but I tried it the other way, (A wide-angle converter taped on
the front of a 190mm Ektar on my 4x5 Super D Graflex). It didn't
work. I don't understand why not.

Possibly a I factory converted to a II or III?

The overlook is, unfortunately, overgrown. If you can rent a tall
stepladder it minght work. (I'll bet that AA used his car-top
platform).
-
Excellent, by any standards!

Bought it last week. The photography is pedastrian, but the advice
is excellent. Who said that the best teachers are also great
photographers? (All color, no B&W)

Maybe more like a Senior Moment. I wonder if today's kids might feel
the same way about reality if they can't see any pixels.

Yesterday there were black storm clouds swirling over South Florida. While driving to supper I looked up at them and thought "They don't look real; they look more like special effects." Then I realized what they lacked to make them appear real to me -- NO GRAIN! Boy, talk about being brainwashed!

The Pentax ZX-5n has strap lugs located so that the top of the camera
leans out slightly from one's body. No more clouded-over eyepiece
even when sweating in the summer. Every camera manufacturer should
learn from it!

Nonsense, refrigeraters are generally very dry. The problem is the
humidity you will bring in the plastic bag from the outside. Just
squeeze all the air that you can out of the package and be sure that
it's tightly sealed. There are some compartments with added humidity
for storing veggies -- don't use them.

Myakka State Park, near Sarasota Florida (West Coast). You can walk
anywhere in the park you want to, without restrictions. This is NOT
the Everglades, but I've seen Clyde Butcher giving workshops here
(you do NOT have to stand up to your arse in swamp water.)

One of the best "investments" you'll ever make in LF photograpy is to
replace a regular ground glass with a Maxwell or Beattie screen.
Expensive, yes. Worth it -- definitely.

I use the 90/8 S.A. on my IV with a flat board, but the end of the
bed intrudes just a tiny bit in portrait mode.

His early B&W work in Vienna (leading to the Magnum connection)was
done with a Rolleiflex, for which, it is said, his brother traded a
pack of cigarettes. Other than that, I believe he used Leica and
Leicaflex exclusively, with Kodachrome 1 and 2.

New: RB-67. Used: 3.25x4.25 Super D Graflex.

I've used the 15" Tele-Raptar on my 4x5 Nagaoka, which is somewhat
lighter than the Tachihara. It is just fine at infinity, but is too
heavy to use cranked out for close-ups (you won't be able to get very
close, anyhow -- maybe 8-10 feet). Have a wonderful trip.

The answer to your question is "Yes."

Mine is 42mm slip-on (1 21/32) Series VI. This is actually a little
tight, and quite difficult to remove; 43mm might be better. (Now if
I could only find holders for my 12cm and 15cm Dagors.)

While one of my favorite photo books is "On This Site," I gotta admit
that IMO Sternfeld's photography is pretty dull. Only when combined
with the narration does his work become special.
That magic sound of the screw mount shutter firing!

I thought the feel and sound of my IIIF was heaven, until a friend
gave me a Model II. Ummmm Mmmmmmm!
