Saw this piece of chicken breast as I was throwing it in the trash can
and thought there was something there.
Do you see it too?

The wife says this should be one of those motivational posters with a
single word below the image like "courage", "strength" or something to
that effect. I think she might be a little biased because she's my wife.
Is it that good?

I took this photo with my low priced Phoenix 100mm f/3.5 macro lens. I
just purchased a Canon 100mm f/2.0 lens and am curious if I could get
the same image quality (or better) with the Canon.
I'm excited about finding out!

I wonder what it must have been like to be alive when everyone was
panning for gold.

Curious to know if anyone else thinks this is a good one...

There is a dog park near the house. I can get some good images there
sometimes. People ususally ask if I'm a photographer when I have the
gear on, I'm wondering if I could earn a few extra dollars promoting
myself in there with a portfolio of shots like this one for visitors
to look through as I shoot their dog.

Interesting view. I wonder what focal length you used to capture it. It seems flat and rectilinear, but it has so much depth. I ask myself if that is due more to the perspective of the lens or to the placement of the elements in the image. Is this a central crop of a larger image, or has the full image been "defished"?
I like how your eye has no choice but to look directly at the bored person in the chair, but keeps flirting with the child's hand and the person on the couch. Looks like something I would see in a homoginized version of the movies "The Shining" and "Russian Arc".
Very nice capture. Interesting decor as well.

This might better fall into the Children category because of the
obvious content, but I'm interested in the community opinion I might
gain from putting it in the Portrait category.
This is a snapshot; in fact, this is the only photo I took of the
young gentleman. Is this photo (with the background elements and
state of the child) good enough to term a "family" portrait level
picture, or does it stay at the snapshot level and therefore suffer
some mandatory shortfall of quality necessary for the label of
a "family" portrait, for no other reason save it being a snapshot?
Believe it or not, his name is Canon...

Not so much at a concert, although it was band practice outside on
the deck...
This guy was very proud of his Christmas gift guitar. So proud, in
fact, that when I asked if I could pick it up to hit a few cords, he
wouldn't allow me to touch it.
Is this an incredibly expensive guitar?
Also, please critique the image...

Very sensual, and not overly revealing.

I saw this hanging on a wall in an art gallery and thought if it
wasn't a large photograph it was an amazing painting. When I got
closer to take a picture of it, I realized it was woven fabric.

I posted another picture last night of just one flower that was well
recieved. I thought this one might go over well also, but I don't
know if there is too much in the image...
-
This is a plastic flower, but I thought it was nice enough.

Wondering if I should reshoot this one with more light exposing the
underside in front of the trigger guard or if it is ok like this. I
usually shoot available light only, and the one lightbulb didn't
catch everything.

Is this image spooky to you? I see something staring back at me
when I look at it...

With normal life as busy as it is, I would sometimes hesitate to
take pictures of this guy, thinking he would always be around and I
could take pictures later when I had more time. We found out not
long ago that he had bad kidneys and now he isn't here anymore.
Looking at the small collection of photos I did get of him makes me
wish I had taken more when I had the chance...
Love them as much as you can if you get the chance today, they might
not be around tomorrow.

I'm wondering if this image suffers from "center syndrome" or if the
light and dark sides of the face move your eye to the left.
Please excuse the yellow remnant of the tennis ball...
-
I think this image is captivating.
I like it when macro photography makes you ask yourself just what in the world you're looking at. If you hadn't told us it was ice, I wouldn't have guessed it.

Just having fun with my Macro lens...

The glowing casino sign made me think of a seedy place in a Blade
Runner-ish science fiction novel; hence the Star Wars quote. Please
