Try this product.
Better stability than a monopod, cuts out lateral and rotational movement.
With a Bronica + 80mm + Metz 1/2 sec exposures are a doddle

Correction.
It is often better than a TRIPOD in low light.

Here is a cam support i designed some time back.
4stops + better than a monopod.
It will also allow time exposures when rested against suitable objects.
With the set up you see, 1/2 sec exposures are no problem.
I would like to know what you think.

Hi Marc,
the bracket needs to be simplified,
i would suggest a 1/4 arc so as the flash could slide from top to side
with a flash shoe and simple locking screw.

Take a look at a Y-Pod.

Hi Nadine !
Eric has highlighted a very important aspect of the y-pod,
that the photogrpher only has to control the forward and backward movement.
What this means in overall stability would depend on the photographers technique and equipment.
In my own case its 4+ stops, with the y-pod resting on suitable surfaces night exposues are easily made.

Hi Nadia ,
you need to look into the folder , all the info is there.
In a nut shell though, a pair of legs that swing down, converting the monopod into a y-pod, which in turn eliminates lateral and rotational movement.

Take a look at the Y-pod on my pages, can,t understand all these people banging on about monopods, they don`t compare in any way.
The Y-pod supports my Bronica sqam + metz 45 with virtualy no movement, half second exposures are easily made
Read the articles and draw your own conclusion.
Perhaps this thread may start an interesting discusion.

Hi Enrico
try using the metz 45 + prism with quick release on the base, does pretty much everything!

Take a look at the Y-pod. Eliminates lateral and rotational movement.
A monopod will save you approx 1 to 2 stops depending on equipment and technique.
The y-pod will save you at least 5+ regardless and allow night photography.

Designed the y-pod, without one you are only using 50% of your camera`s potential ? Whether it`s a Leica or a Lubitel.
-
Designed the y-pod, so i could leave the tripod in the car boot and continue shooting at - 1/60 and still obtain sharp pics.

The real issue with the RB is the method of support.
Take a look at the y-pod, it turns the RB into a lightweight.
You could shoot weddings far more effectively than with a monopod or tripod !

This guys obviously a bit of a stud !
It`s a very good idea , but needs a lot more thought to realy make it work.
Good luck with your portraits.
