Excellent advise Rolfe. Astia has it!

Here it is again folks exactly as the the last offer.
This chap must have a warehouse full. Check him out
but dont contact.

Hi Cloude , I think your statement on the R3 is not right. The one to avoid is the R4. The 3 is vey reliable indeed. Almost all of the early R4 can not even be repaired. If anyone here has a different opininion I would love to hear it.

Sorry George , yes my mistake not reading properly.
No my friend is unlikely to have this type. Actually I am a subscrber
but dont get the world issue either
-
Hi George ,yes I would be able to supply you with the name of a collector here . He does have almost all the back issues for sale.
Some from before 1940. Just keep in mind we are in Australia.
Shipping will be weeks. Get back to me if you whish I give you a list.

A truly comprehensive Leica posting!

B&H provides good service and better shipping option.

So Harry why do you think it helps to post in German. It seems to me you have a problem with pronounciation. ( ein besonders grosses Wort fuer mich) lol
-
Whatever you choose ,dont make it John Doe .
Serious what is wrong with your name?
-
Thank you Dai & Con, the exact reply from B&H was this:
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the safety of film shipped overseas from X-Rays.
For U.S.A. orders the carriers do not usually xray packages but will do so from time to time for security purposes.
At this time B&H cannot offer a film shield to protect the box contend.
This is the exact reply to my inquiry.
I have since found relevant information and instructions on the Kodak site. Basically X-ray is certain to destroy any light sensitive material. Also as Dai pointd out some electronic goods are not safe either. It seems even inside the U.S.A you may run the risk getting your precious film exposed before you load it.
-
I whish to purchase some Kodak Ektachrome. These are not available
here in Australia so I need to import. B&H advised shipping is not
safe from X-ray. Does anyone have experience or know of a safe
shipping method.
Thanks

I wear glasses this is always a problem .The best screen I found is the
(Uniform ground glass with grid division ) part number is 14346.
Screens are quite bright I dont think you will find better. For me the problem on the standart screen was the micro prism .

Here is one more suspect offer(s)
Member Oisan827 item 5128477996 .there are many more some photographic
offers .From Andorra listet in the U.K. Be ware!

I find the Minilux indeed suffers from vignetting .Perhaps this is
the flash mode it sets f2.4 as default .At least this one does .Much better to use f5.6 but then the flash lacks power .I would not class this camera as a p&shoot .too many control systems if you want to get it right you must use them .Except for the vignetting the lens is sharp
still at the price its just acceptable .We had the camera some years now it seems quite reliable very strong case .

Perhaps the redundant workforce can apply for positions in China.
Companies there will need to increase production.

Thank you Michael & William.I contacted Schneider in Germany they are most helpful advising to send the lens in.I send it to the Linhof agent since he is the distributor for Schneider lenses here.My own tech pointed out it could only be the shutter.I just hope they get it right.

Hi ,I have this Apo Symmar L 120 .Purchased new some month ago .The
lens performs fine ,anyhow I am mostly using it for 6x9 actually 56x86 .
The unusual problem is everytime it is used there is a collection of
very fine brass dust inside the shutter coating the elements aperture
and shutter blades .So the lens needs to taken apart and cleaned
.Presumably the problem originates from the shutter not having been
adequately cleaned before assembly .My question has anyone had this
experience ,should the lens go back to Schneider or will the problem
dissapear .
Thanks for any advise Manfred

My baby Tech V takes the latest Super Rollex as well as the older Rollex .My Son owns an older Tech III and this one too takes both versions .
If you are unsuccessful finding panels let me know I will cut some for you .I am in metalwork ,these panels are alum alloy not sure of the size right now .There is no charge other than shipping .And yes the ground glass is somewhat smaller .A little care must be taken using the older
Rollex ,since the film backs and film are now quite thin there is a difference in spacing .To overcome this wind some paper onto the empty spool before loading the film .This way they still work quite well .
If you use the 6x9 version with eight negs the spacing is wider and so gives less problems .I hope this helps .

So film is dead ,long live digital .My Epson Photo 700 now two years old
It printet around 150 A4 glorious color photos.Sadly it just failed repair not possible .While the prints on my wall have largely faded .
The same goes to the fujy digital camera .For me back to the trusty M6
or the still young M3.

Thanks Victor ,most helpful info. The camera has heen fitted with a Xenotar 80mm f2.8 .The lens is not suitable but it has its own cam and that has two blanc sides .I thought someone might know who could match one side to the 105 mm.Not possible here in Australia. If not I will take your advise and look for the Symmar 100mm .

Hi
I purchased a Linhof 6x9 from a ret. photog. He was unsure witch model
it is.The number in accessory shoe is 5061073 .The body is paintet
beige it seems to be the same as the model 70 but has a side mounted
r/finder.The cam system is not like the IV as the cams are not linked
from the side .A lever comes out when drawing the lens .Also I like
to know can someone match a cam to an older apo Lanthar 105mm or
should I look for a newer Apo Sironar 100mm .The camera has the
triple cam one of is a 100mm. I appreciate any help .Thanks , Manfred
