It is odd, but it needs no foam rubber light seals.... at least on my m2. And that is a good thing.

GRAIN GRAIN GRAIN.... Use your feet.... they are really cheap.... plus i find that it helps my photography to restrict myself to only one lens, you get more creative.

These pictures probably carry no merit with anyone but yourself. Sure the dresses are nice looking, and so is the kid. But the photos are just average photos of your kids stuff. Nothing really to critique here.... if you had no kids, what would you photograph?

Granted, TMX is sharp as hell, but just a paint in the ass to work with.... and is really not worth the trouble of fooling with because you could always use neopan or delta if you need 100 speed film.
You can use it to interesting effect with hc110 developer to attain a "plasticy" look... which is interesting. Blown highlights, but only the tip top.

Sure artists talk gear and think about it too. BUT they see the gear as a means to an end, not an end in itself.

Buy a 6x4.5 camera.

Rangefinders offer a direct view of your subject, instead of a projected image on ground glass. I think that this leads to pictures that are more concious of the subject. Also, having that space around the framelines is a great help, it really helps the composition and also makes the photog aware of what is just outside of the frame, which helps to place the correct thing s in the frame.
Well thats why RF's are so great.... the reason that Leicas are so great is b/c they are simply the finest execution you can find of a rangefinder.

I personally dislike anything longer than 50mm on my Leica. Since you seem to favor shorter lenses (21mm and 16mm) i would suggest that you get a 35mm Summicron.
-
Get a Kowa Super 66, the lenses are darn good and the camera is well built and reliable.

Roger, take me off the list please, as I just realized all my current Darkroom can really do is RC.

Will we only recive one phototgraph, or 21 photos from this? Prehaps we could each print 21 prints, and mail them to Roger with a SASE, then he sorts and remails the prints out to everyone.

I think this applies to a lot of people on this board:

Minolta Hi-matic 7s2 - Uses a 40mm lens, reported to be the same as the 40mm summicron.

Thomas, very eggleston-esque.

I like them all. Good work! I dilike moste of the junk posted around here (I'm not saying mine is different) but this is good stuff.
I like the way the colors look in you color work.. particularly the teenage mother series. What film(s) do you use for you color stuff?

A Leica sounds like a cannon compared to a leaf shutter rangefinder (Canonet, Minolta Himatic 7s2... etc)

you can get rid of the blueish cast by desaturating in PS

It should be fine as a protective filter.

I'm one of those guys that never really likes the camera bag he
uses: too many pockets, too much padding, not enough padding, etc.

So, I usually end up with my cameras clunking around on the front
seat of my car; not a good way to keep a camera in good shape. But
I have now found the perfect solution for me: A Zing "Deluxe, Multi-
Strap camera/Accessory Bag" Its neoprene, it is not too snug and not
too loose, will hold a leica with any decent sized lens attatched,
and it looks like it could accomadate a grip or rapidwinder as
well. A great way to keep your camera from getting bumped around in
a backpack or lumbar pack.

B&H has them in a couple of colors(I got black):

There is no central focus to the image..... you are too far away. Shadows can't make a picture.

M lenses are the heart of the M system, so redesigning the lenses would be a waste or time and money for leica.
At some point, some sort of technology will be developed that will allow the use of the current M lenses. We'll just have to wait.
On another note, it will be darn easy to make a digital adapter for the M, considering the flap that swings up in the back.

Kodak and Grey Market Film
in Black & White Practice
Posted
Hi guys, its been months since i've been to this forum and months
since i've needed to buy film (Tri-X); Now that i need to, i find that
greymarket film is nowhere to be found! What happend to buying a roll
for $2.19? Surely someone has an answer to this or relevant links that
point to one. I used the google search tool but could find nothing on
photo.net.
Anyone?
