I think you framed this shot very well, and I'm especially taken by the motion blur, and how it helps isolate the subject.  Terrific capture.  Congratulations!

This shot really caught my eye; congratulations on a memorable capture!  I think many photo.net visitors would like to know more about the 'handmade macro lens' you refer to.

  1. I know others already have sung the praises of this photo, but I'll still chime in, too. I can't think of the last time a portrait made such a strong impression on me. *And* I like it as it is in black and white, which, for me, is quite unusual. Congratulations.

A compliment from me on this photo might not be worth much, as I don't know Thing One about close-up shots of such critters -- but this shot really caught my eye. The colors, the caught-in-mid-stride look -- just perfect. Congratulations.

Intriguing shot. I found it under the 'top rated photos' section, so it's obvious that many, many others share my high estimation of it. This was the only photo in that section that interested me enough to click on to enlarge.

    Congratulations.

Simply stunning -- one of the most memorable shots I've seen here in at least a year. I think you deserve special credit for your sensitivity in cropping, too.
  2. Sorry -- I should have checked your portfolio before writing my comment. Obviously, you didn't pose the shot. I congratulate you for the quick thinking that made the photo possible.
  3. Just terrific! I'd like to learn more about how the photo was taken. Was it posed, or did you simply come up with this wonderful idea while covering the event?

A marvelous shot, no matter how you got it!
