I dont normally comment on trains.... But this one rocks. I love the motion blur you have added to it. It provides a very effective look.

It set a very fast tone.

Very good idea, great composition with the train forming this diagonal.

These days photography is as much about what you do with the shot afterwards in the system as taking it int he first place as this cool train admirably shows.

What drew me to this photograph is the color palette and the retro subject. Here, overcast skies allowed the photo to achieve an overall sense of the past that might not have been possible on a nice clear day. The framing heroifies the train and presents a nice sense of motion even if the blur was not applied. I think this walks the right side of that fine line that could have created a sense of crowding at the front of the train.

 

I do think, however, that the digital work may have gone a bit too far. The sharp-to-blur transitions on the train are just a bit too abrupt and maybe the blur itself went a bit too far. But that said, I still enjoy the effect of the color palette.

Nice shot. I am not normally one for digital alterations. But this adds to the picture rather than overpowers it. Great subject - love the retro feel of the train.

great picture.. only criticism i would give is if u add abit more constrast to the steel part of the train to make it more shiny, it would be abit nicer in my view and make the main light abit brighter.
