I've been experimenting with editing in Darktable, and I can't tell if there's more to be had from this shot, or if this is a "garbage in, garbage out" situation (i.e. the shot doesn't have a good composition). Love some feedback and things to try.

I know, it's a bit cliche, but this lighthouse just begs to be photographed.

I'm working on my composition, but I'd appreciate any and all feedback.

Thanks for looking. I'd appreciate any feedback, specifically regarding composition, but all is
welcome.

This is a shot I took while on a hike to the Eagle Creek area in
Oregon. I was experimenting with depth of field, and would like to
know your comments.

Just a photo a shot while playing with some close-up filters. Not
very original, true, but I like the lighting and the texture on the
rose.

This was taken at The Bite of Portland (Oregon) in 1998. I spent a
lot of time taking crowd shots during the day, and at night decided
to play around with my last roll of film (400 speed even), and
captured this shot. It was one of the few that turned out well, and
I can't help but wonder what I would have come up with had I had film
more suited for the conditions. As I'm an amateur, I'd appreciate
any feedback and tips/tricks you can suggest.
