Print: Portra 400 or 160NC depending on format (larger formats can get away with 400NC)
Slide: 35MM-Kodachrome is my choice
larger formats-I have liked EPP for accuracy and detail.

Actually 335 had a different leader cut I think but the emulsion was the same. Anyway, stereo is certainly fun let me know if you need a manual for the Kodak I think I have a copy around here. I am using a realist now, still great fun but you have to mount yourself.

Another vote for the Retina IIa, mine was $25 and runs circles around the Yashicas and Konicas I have used (Electro and S2 respectively). No meter but a L-188 is light, relativley cheap and can be used with multiple of your oldies. Fits in a pocket a lot better as well.

Just developed my first roll of 16mm, Plus-x from a Minolta P. Even though the film was 20 years old came out great with D76 at 1:1. Look forward to reloading my 2 cassettes with some fresh Plus-X and taking it for a spin this weekend. Also have a Minolta 16 to test and then move up to miniature to take my new Exa for a spin.

The company's recommendations are pretty accurate for both Diafine and Acufine. You can find them at bkaphoto.com, the distributor's website.

I tend to flip mine over a couple of time during processing to keep from getting streaks. For 10 minutes of d76 I usually flip (move the inlet side from left to right or visa versa) every 3 minutes, seems to work for me.

the meter in my 124G has always been spot on for chromes as well
-
But they are so much fun!!

I have two Bay 1 hoods and they both fit my 124G, although a little snug. They slip on my rolliecord III with no effort, so I imagine there is a small differnece you should be able to work around.

Because the emulsions are different. People will put up with coating if the tonality is what they like (me included).

Some of my best Diafine shots were with FP4 @ 250. But these were at night with flash, the Diafine really tamed the highlights and made for some great shots.

I have used some JandC 200 that does not have edge markings. JandC's site should be up tomorrow, the fims is relatively cheap to get some and try.

I just ran my first roll through my Kodak Stereo. Exposures look
great, so I believe the shutter is fine. It does seem to have an
inermittent problem with frame overlap. Does anyone have suggestions
on how to service? I have researched and only found articles on
shutter and alignment issues, any suggestions on the film advance
would be appreciated.

One of the 400 speed Portras, NC for people, VC or UC for general. The 400 speed will help you with the slow lens and the larger slice of film negates the grain. Once you get comfortable with focusing and composing you can move to the slower films but I stay with these as they are excellent and flexible for what I print (up to 8x10).

The distributor's website lists APX400 at an ei of 500. They are usually pretty accurate. I have not used APX400, but regularly shoot tri-x at 1250, verichrome at 400, efke kb100 at 250, and Classic Pan 200 at 500. I enjly the look and ease of Diafine.

Okay, which dollar store chain and where are you located? I love Kodachrome and would love to pick some n the cheap!

The website for the distributor is www.bkaphoto.com. They have info on Diafine and Acufine, as well as dozens of other photo items they distribute.

My solution B is almost black after about 10 uses, my negs seem to be fine. Additionally, from what I have read this is normal. The maker suggests you can strain it but it is not necessary.

The numbers will be there keep on winding. The advice on covering the red window with tape is essential. Even using Reala (ISO100) I can get light leaks, a 400 film would be worse. B&W doesn't seem to be as prone to this for me.
-
Barry, you indicate you are using Efke with Diafine, what EI's are you using? My use of efke 100 @ 160 seemed a bit overexposed, what has been your experieince? Have you tried Efke 25 or 50?

A good source for Yachica TLR info is @ williamsphotographic.com, according to this site the Luxamor is an early name for the 4 element, Tessar copy Yashinon lense that is on the 'modern' Yashcica TLR's.
Uh-oh... handled an OM-1 for the first time in over 20 years...
