The T* version will be abetter performer regarding contrast and flare suppression but the big jump for a better image quality (especially
at close distance) is the CF FLE (not the plain CF that is the same as the older version optically speaking) or the CFI FLE.

Thank you for your prompt reply, anyway it is unclear to me if in your opinion resting the scanner near te speaker and LCD TV could
affect it functionality. I want to clarify that is only when the scanner is not in use that it rest there, in fact when Imuse it I move in another
position, where I have a comfortable desk and enough room to operate. This is in another room of my house (unfortunatly I can not
permanently leave the scanner on that desk).

Hi all, When not in use I would like to rest my hasselblad flextight 646 between the TV set and audio speaker, I know it should be not
used near magnetic fields but I'm thinking to myself if the storage that way could dause some problem to the mechanics (magnetization
of some parts), I suppose this is not a problem, the scanner itself has some magnetic part (where it catchbthe film holder) but may be
someone knows more. Thank you in advance.

Hi Evan, thanks for your input. Actually the hasselblad repair center is still sorting up the "strange noise problem" of the
scanner I mentioned before. But I don't think this is the cause because generally the other pictures taken with different
lenses and the center portion of the pictures taken ith the 40mm are sharp. Good point about the FLE setting, I use it
correctly, i have a 50 FLe too and never had a problem. May be Y should find the correct way to use it when I set the
focus for yperfocal, now i set the FLE ring for the distance i set the focus (and then i set the focus again) may be thi is the
cause of the poor performance, may be I should focus closer (and set the FLE ring accordingly). I have another doubt, I'm
taking pictures with the lens pointed a bit toward the ground to include more foreground and less sky, could it be the
cause? It is not a flat subject like a brick wall.
-
If was the scanner the problem would arise in all pictures and not only in those taken with the 40mm and only in the corner
-
Nathan, probably you are referring to the CFE IF version because the CFE FLE has the same optical formula than CF FLE.
-
Thanks,
I will carefully check the pictures and will photograph something flat with fine details across the entire photogram (the classic bricks
wall) becausenmost of my pictures have the sky in the 2 upper corner. I don't know for what to hope, lens disalignment (probably
expensive to fix, if adjustable at all) or the lens is ok and I am too much critical.

Unfortunatly I can not post examples a t this momente, I will whn possible. I alvays use tripod an mirror up, caable
release. In the examples I am examining I have used f stop in the range of 16, may be 22. Iperfocal focusing. The corners
are noticeable softer than the edge and the centermof the image. I will perform some more test but then? How can I
know if those are the expected performace or the lens is defective? Do you think that the accident occurred could have damaged it?

I doub the intend to reintroduce the V system, probably they want to sell DB that otherwhise would be sold by Leaf or
Phase one to V system user. But who knows? May be they are clever enought to understand that there are still many
people interested in simple mechanicak camera that want a digitital capture. In the past who suspected (apart me) that
Zeiss would reintroduce lenses for V system?

Hi all, after I bought an hasselblad Flextight 646 scanner (used) I discovered how poor the performance of this lens is in the corner. It is
very soft and show color fringing. Wich is your experience with this lens? I would like to be sure if this is the way it is supposed to be or if
mine is defective (bought used, and last summer i slipped on slippery rocks and the backpack on my shoulder bumped the ground, th
lens was inside, could this cause misallignment? The focus an general performance seem fine).
I know the IF version is supposed to be better but i did not think that the previous version was so bad (I can not imagine how is th old C
version).
Thank you in advance for your opinion.

Who knows? All is possible.

If I was interested in buying a CFV digital back I would be more interested in the CCD version (is it still in production? It is not clear
reading the hasselblad web site) due to the minor crop factor. For me itnis more important than high ISO? Anyway good news,
hopefullyin the future we will have a new version with a bigger sensor. Or may be zeiss could design and make some wide angle lens for
crop sensor :-)

My main concern is not cost of developing but thd quality, not that the cost is not an issue at all (in fact me too is more selective lately
on what I shot) but if I can be sure of the quality at least I could enjoy it with no fear. Too much screwed up film lately to enjoy the
process.

Imshot slidemfor about 90% of my pictures but recently the option regarding labs are narrowed because som closedmor stopped doing
e6 and the remains are getting worst each time (see my post of yesterday). Slides are my favourite but the problems related to
processing started to re-think about it and in the future I will shot less and less. Unfortunatly recently I stocked up a good amount of
velvia50, provia 100F and all the provia 400X I found around Italy (all in 120 format). I will use it very slowly or sell it if I find someone
interested (above all the rare provia 400 X). Sad days because as already stated nothing equal a well exposed slide viewed on a light
table or (better) projected

The lab B is one of those who collect films froj different places so I don't who and where is, the lab A showed a strip but how can we be
shure of the day (or hour) ofmprocessing? There is no way because there is no reference number on the film. I will search another lab
and then, sadly, when I finished my stock of slide I think I will stop to shot slides, I'm more and more into B&W for these reason too. Sad
but this is how the things goes here in Italy.

As happened in the past (see the following link http://www.photo.net/film-and-processing-forum/00XEXs ) a lab gave me what I think are
bad processed film. The colors seems a bit off, too much toward yellow, an the sky present dark vertical stripes, othernthan many
frames show spots of dust.
So i shot the same pictures on two different rolls (same emulsion number, swapping film back on my hasselblad) and developed in this
lab (call it lab A) and in another lab (lab B). The film developed by lab A is way overexposed, instead the film developed in the lab B is ok.
Now i recall that all the roll i recently developed in the lab A seem overexposed but Before this check I thought it was my mistake.
Anyway I showed the problem to the tecnician an the owner of the lab and they stated that the film thy developed is ok (they checked the
density of the black) and the film developed by the lab B is underdeveloped because the black is too black and the marcs on the edge of
the film is orange instead of yellow. I always seen the mark orange in the past ,may be not so dark (this could explay why the dark is too
much dark), but orange or dark yellow, not yellow, in all labs I used.
So which is the correct color? Dark yellow, orange, or yellow?
Thank you in advance.

After many scans finally the repairman too incurred in the problem so he filmed the problem and sent to hasselblad to receive some
input becsuse he recently serviced thatvscanner and never seen this problem. I will let you know how it will end.
-
Few days ago I started using my "new" (bought used) flextight 646, after 10 scan the scanner started doing weird noise while charging
the film holder , gave me message like "white balance underexposed" or (alternatively) "no film holder" (Intraslated the messages from
italian, so could be a little differnt from the original english message); at that poiht I have been able to scan just another frame but it
came out not center3d on the area selected, like if the film holder slipped during the feeding. The seller told me to bring it to the
hasselblad repair center (where it has been serviced before it was put on sale), the repairman checked it, they scaaned some films and it
seems that all works properly). Now I will try it again but I'm wondering what happened, (the seller when I called on the phone an let him
hear that weird noise, talked about a "friction" and "springs"). Any clue?
Thank you in advance,
Diego

Ilfochrome was officially discontinued in september 2011, some stock is still available I suppose because the lab I use still can obtain it,
but only in limited format. For mybtaste the result was way better than any other process I have seen, the only that can render the
sensation of the original slide (if correctly printed as already stated). Unfortunatly it is gone, I'm looking for a substitute too, in the mean
time I have bought an Hasselblad flextighot 646 scanner and now I have to learn the digital process, way too much difficult in
compariswon than drop the slide to the lab and receive an ilfocchrome prints a couple of day later. And please, don't tell me I can do the
same but with hibrid process, at least in my city (Milano, Italy), all the pro lab I tried returned me prints that let me unsatisfied.

Marco, thank a lot for the prompt and comprehensive reply. I have another question regarding the scanning in .fff mode:
the unsharp mask (that I have read must be set on -120 to be "not applied") is set at this stage or when I export the file
as a .tif?
-
Hi all, I have just acquired an used hasselblad flextight 646 and I'm in the process of learning to use it so you can expect some question
by me in the future? Thank you in advance.
But let'get to the first question: if I scan in .fff format and then want to save the file as a .tif, why it is possible only in .tif 8 bit but not in 16
bit.
